If you don't watch the games, but just look shit up, then you don't have the full story. If you never watch games, then you are just like any other idiot fan, and are going to be consistently wrong.

You think you know about the Cubs because you look up sabre? If you don't watch baseball, you don't understand normal stats, much less sabre.

Just watch a game or stop bringing up stupidity.

again, it is for attention. he thinks he is clever with his sarcasm.

Oh god...

So when you watch the games you have the full story? Not at all. What does watching the games have to do with being right or wrong? Whether I watch the games or not, the same thing is going to happen, thus the same stats. How does this argument change at all if I watch the games? It doesn't. Again, what does watching baseball... with the eye have to do with understanding normal stats... with the brain. Saber is not stupidity. I understand that you don't understand it, but you're just talking out of your ass.

1) stop trying to sound like lefty.

2) you yourself have no idea how to comprehend sabre, let alone evaluate talent.

Right. Stop bitching and talk sports. Not that hard.

I just can't argue with some kid that doesn't watch baseball about the Cubs.

What does the number of games I watched last year have to do with any of it? Nothing, that's what. Tell me, please, what the number of games I watched last year has to do with it.

1) I wasn't.

2) I'm sorry that I don't use the old eye test. I like to use something that is more than 50% reliable.

It's a sports forum. Stop. Grow up.

So what was so different about last year? Hell, Z put up some of the best numbers of his career with the highest BABIP he's ever had.

Defense is not the only problem with ERA, but also the judgement of the scorekeeper. All these other stats are fine to use, just not to evaluate a player.

Right, some random kid who doesn't watch sports is an expert on the Cubs and baseball in general.

Cool, you read one thing where I contradict myself. I am referring to the differential in his FIP and ERA. How many times do I have to say that before you get it? I'm really trying to be the nice guy here, but you make it so hard. It's the FIP/ERA differential. Okay, yeah, I am too hard on ERA and it is acceptable to use in certain circumstances. But dude, stop being stuck on one thing from like 2 pages ago.

That's great. Too bad we are talking about pitchers here. I've never said UZR is perfect, but it's the best that we have. Back to the subject of pitchers, how do you need eyes to calculate FIP, ERA, tEra, et. cetera? That's right, you don't.

Right, some random kid who doesn't watch sports is an expert on the Cubs and baseball in general.

Never claimed to be an expert. You are simply putting wayyyyyyyy too much stock into watching the games. Plus, you act like I watched 0 games last year.

FIP generally has 7-13 members watching the pitchers as well. thank you.

Just throwing my 2 cents in on the issue....we're all posting in the Cubs forum. Instead of trying to argue your own beliefs to death...agree to disagree. We all want the Cubs to win...pointing out a forum-enemy who is a fan of the same team as you is silly.

We're all rooting for the same team lol. Just remember that when arguing about your posts. This thread could have been salvaged but arguing about how you argue and the variables you take into consideration while arguing, isn't really relevant of Brandon Webb or how the Cubs organization is targeting him. No ill will.
