Breakfast foods are delicious.... someone burn this witch

I don't eat them anymore, but they were good.

I just wasn't one of those people that was all like "Why are you eating eggs and bacon at 3:30 PM?! That's for breakfast!" No, it's food, and I can eat it whenever I want.

But back in the day, people weren't buying certain products, so they had to be sold on the fact that these foods were important to eat in the morning for good health. So people started buying.

I don't believe in breakfast foods. I eat what I have, or am in the mood to eat. I eat salmon regularly for breakfast, or a sardine salad.

It's actually a corporate scam. Breakfast is not scientifically proven to be "the most important meal of the day." That was just made up, and everyone followed suit. Cereal/donuts/pancakes/waffles were advertised heavily as "staple foods" for breakfast. Other foods, like eggs and bacon, were more of a tradition, and farmers said shit like, "eat eggs in the morning because chicken lay eggs in the morning" or something like that.

It has actually been shown that breakfast for kids, under 18, improves cognitive performance in school.

This is probably totally true, but nevertheless eggs and bacon is delicious...as well as other stuff that's considered breakfast foods for whatever reason

I actually skip breakfast like 95% of the time lol

I think there are benefits to eating breakfast (obviously haha), but being sold on the whole "important meal of the day" thing, and the saying "Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and supper like a pauper" was mostly for marketing purposes.

There are some studies that show intermittent fasting for breakfast has health benefits, and other studies showing that eating a good, heavy breakfast isn't as great as once thought. Other studies show that no meal is the most important meal of the day. What's important is that you just receive the right nutrition throughout the day, whenever that may be. I think you can find pros and cons to all sides of the argument, but there is no resounding evidence that breakfast is king and that you must eat specific foods to be healthy.

I totally agree. I miss "breakfast foods." It's just that most of them are very unhealthy, and I cut out junk food a long time ago haha.

As adults, our eating habits probably are what determine what is the most important meal of the day. But it is pretty clear that breakfast for growing children under 18 is quite benficial for brain function.

The rest I agree with. I rarely eat breakfast during the week. My first meal is usually 4 hours or so after waking, and even then it's light.

But I have a soft spot for a nice plate of bacon and eggs, doesn't matter the time of day or for what meal.

I don't disagree. I actually think your first point is a good one.

My breakfasts are also light, for the most part. Making a smoothie is common for me. It's lunch where I usually have my first big meal. Dinners are light too.... I hate going to bed feeling full.

Dinner is my biggest meal, but I tend to eat a good while before bed. Which is probably why I rarely eat breakfast.

Since you eat a good while before going to bed, don't you wake up starving? At least that happens to me. Or is it something you get used to?

yea...there's really no concept of breakfast food in my house. I eat whatever was leftover from the day before. If nothing was left over, then I make eggs

I think my not eating breakfast is just a pattern that developed while I was a smoker. I thought my appetite would return after quitting, and I even tried to force having breakfast to retrain myself. But eating first thing in the morning is just not appealing to me. Although, if I eliminate coffee in the morning, I do tend to eat instead.

I like breakfast food but I don’t like eating breakfast so I’ll have it at other times. Eggs and bacon fine with me. I’m just looking to eat, not get fancy.

Best time for breakfast food is at night.

With the talk of ribs, I recalled an epic breakfast I had made for myself. Yes, the egg is there, it's just "hiding" :)

That is a pretty limp breakfast sandwich. Kind of the opposite of epic actually.

I mean that is standard issue wheat bread for Christ's sake!

When I eat healthier I wake up starving! My body just consumes the food more efficiently I think. Doesn't matter how late I eat.

Favorite breakfast is probably Eggs Benedict with a side of corn beef hash (the good homemade stuff).

Love eggs benny. Have you tried Eggs Omar, or Eggs Royale?
They do a lot of new Mexico eggs Benedict down here where they incorporate green chile into the sauce. Rather delicious.
