How was keeping Aldrich for the remainder of the season with all the TRUE rumors less of a distraction than protecting your players by firing him and finding someone else to do video?

Everyone in that meeting knew Aldrich was propositioning at least 2 players, and possibly knew that he actually assaulted Kyle Beach and threatened their own high draft picks careers
Exactly. **** all of them.
The Blackhawks organization only had one goal in mind and that was the Stanley Cup, they simply did not care about Beach at that Moment, they did not care about one kids life and how it would change because of the sexual abuse he encountered. The Blackhawks only cared about the Blackhawks, they didnt care about Beach, when Q was quoted as saying they would deal with it after the cup run, he was more or less saying, he doesn’t really care, not his problem. This is the world we live in today. The video was damning to watch, my heart goes out to Beach and everything that man went through, and while I am at I hope Aldridge meets his maker, because pieces of shit like him don’t deserve to breath the same air as we do.
The fact that this came out gives me hope that things may change and hopefully soon.

I am certainly not pointing the finger here, but where was Toews and Kanes reactions, instead we here from 3 players that weren’t even around the organization in 2010.
They are out with covid. Check that Toews seems to be back after yesterday's protocol report

All this for a video coach that no-one heard of or would have noticed was on suspension?

All they had to do was suspend him once mgmt found out and held meeting (right after SJ series). Then initiate an internal investigation as those things take time and he would have likey been let go in the summer (as he was anyway).

Hope he burns in hell....and in the very near future.

Zack, let me ask you, what is your Stance on Q in all of this, I certainly hope he gets tossed from the NHL as did the other sack of shit Bowman. It’s interesting to read how many people believe Q and Chevaldayoff should get a free pass because it was not there problem, it was upper managements issue to deal with.
Both fired. and needs to happen ASAP.

Lord,I know we are on the same level with this situation, one thing I dont Understand with all that transpired, Beach said he went to player safety of the NHL as well as upper management in Chicago, why did the NHL not intervene, and when he realized his sexual allegations were not being taken seriously, why did Beach not bring this to law enforcement? and where is that person who was in charge of player safety at the time to give his interview on what Beach had brought forward to him.

Those are questions more in my wife's wheelhouse, but my best guesses:

Male sexual abuse is one of those areas that still has a lot of bad stuff around it. How many out there thought/said that "a player of his size should have stood up for himself"? How threatened did he feel for his career? If the 'hawks didn't take him seriously, why would he think the police would? Hell, that cuntpickle Gary victim-blamed him! Players hazed him for it based on reports. What little I know about the psychology of this is that, like a lot of abuse victims of all genders and ages, when he wasn't taken seriously and clamed up. Further that scumbag Aldrich allegedly did what all assaliants do; try to convince him that no one will velive him, everyone will ridicule him, and Aldrich will ruin him if he says anything.

I think the NHL is like a lot of organizations; they take action only when the bottom line is threatened. Further, male sexual abuse understanding is in it's infancy now, a decade ago it was embryonic. A bunch of dustfarts like those that run the NHL at the time probably didn't think it existed.

It's a fucked up situation. I'm hoping that this is the watershed movement that puts this into the limelight and abuse like this is taken more seriously than before.

Well in relation to the NHL, Bettman is standing tall now and putting all the onus on the Hawks in which they certainly deserve, but where is the NHL on taking on the onus of the fact that Beach had brought the encounter with Aldridge to them and as the Hawks did, the NHL did nothing and have pretty much taken zero responsibility for the incident or investigating the incident at that time.
It is the NHLs responsibility for there players, and once again this is another epic fail, where was Beach to go, all his arteries were cut, what will the NHL do, to make things right.

And what did University if Miami Ohio do in 2012 when they had players victimized by Aldridge?
Somehow he got to coach high schoolers the next year and abuse them.

Also, very interesting Notre Dame refused to cooperate with the investigation. Who knows what happened there.

Sounds like the players association isn't far behind.

Some quick research... Aldrich worked with Notre Dame before he was hired by the Blackhawks in 2008.

When he left the Blackhawks he went back to Notre Dame. He claimed he left the Blackhawks because of travel and grind so he probably had connections there still.

He went to Miami Ohio and I found an article with no information on a Blackhawks recomendation, but confirmed discussions with ND

He was NOT fired from Miami Ohio for assault on a an undergrad student and they apparently 'acted appropriately.' But it seems like they did similar to the Hawks. Suspended him and he resigned..

He went back to his home town high school where I assume everyone thought he was a local hero since he had the Cup there a few years earlier, and probably didnt check any references

Me personally. I have a hard time believing that he went back to ND without any kind of recommendation or even conversation with the high profile alumnus former boss.

I edited the post. He was NOT fired by Miami Ohio. They did similar to the Hawks and suspended him until he resigned.

The Hawks could have had let him resign AND investigated to make sure nothing criminal happened.

I also just dont get why the staff and players allowed him around for parties and the ring/banner night.

It really seems like the players perspective was it's all rumors, and when Aldrich was gone the next season they didn't know what really happened, but heard more rumors of things like group sex with Aldrich, women, Beach, and Black Ace 1. There are quotes in the report that beach and Black Ace 1 may have been joking about it all in 2010 training camp (probably coping mechinism)

Obviously that could be players covering their own asses because Sopel and Boyton seemed to have known how serious it was

It was in the Beach video. He's very upset with them. Or at least Donald Fehr
I watched The video, I think it was more directed at Donald, but not sure what will come of it.

One thing I thought was odd......this is Aldrich

Beach is 6'3" and 210 lbs.

Why didn't he kick the shit out of him?

Because Aldrich told him "no one will believe you. i can make or break your career"

Also there were 4 contradicting stories:

-Beach says Aldrich invited him over for a dinner and helping with video highlights. Feeding him alcohol and basically trapping him there with a mini baseball bat and career threats

-Aldrich says they had consensual sexual activity with a woman who left and they continued with just Aldrich and Beach (hard to believe with what we know about this creep)

-The woman says that she went with Aldrich and Beach to the apartment. They had consensual sexual activity, but she left when Aldrich made her uncomfortable. (May have been a different night)

-A friend of Beach says that he was told Aldrich invited him over for dinner and video highlights, gave him alcohol that may have been drugged because Beach was in and out of consciousness

Regardless of what story is the truth.....Beach sounds like a real charmer himself or maybe just a moron. On the Sicko Chart, Beach appears to only be slightly less perverted than Aldrich.
