My favorite teams
@Toast88 what say ye?!?!
Oh I have no betting experience - I have been to Vegas once and went to the horse tracks for the first time this year. I'm not about to judge y'all for being gamblers but I really am, for the most part, averse to it for myself. I do know that betting odds are affected by number of bets, and set in an area that entices the most bets possible. That’s not how being odds work. The winless lions could be 10 point favorites over the 16-0 Patriots, if for whatever reason, there was a massive amount of money bet on the Lions, and the book makers needed to set the spread and give points to the Pats, to get an even amount of money bet on the Patriots.
The public can usually tell who is the better team, and money talks. But the book makers give zero fucks about what team is good, and what team sucks. The line and spread exist for one reason: to get an equal amount of money bet on both teams. If money starts coming heavier on one team over the other, the line and spread adjusts, so that the money bet, evens out again.
The Bears were only 1.5 point favorites over the 1 win Jags in the UK.
Why? Because 1.5 points got an equal amount of money bet on the Bears, and the Jags. Bettors determine the spread, and always have.
Can we revisit this thread in four years and compare Caleb's stats to Fields' current stats?
Yes.Didnt I read the bears have the largest point differential in the NFL in the 4th quarter?\
Yes.
The Bears are one of the best 4th quarter teams in the NFL.
Why are you marking that as a question? How would anyone know what you read?Didnt I read the bears have the largest point differential in the NFL in the 4th quarter?\
I dunno man, might be too busy figuring out how the Bears are going to be the first team to 3peat a Super Bowl.
As to the OP, I am thrilled Justin Fields is winning football games as a starting quarterback because that was pretty rare for most of his time here. The reason I was surprised the Bears did not keep him is his game is very complimentary to a team with a strong defense that wants to play a ball control heavy run offense. Arthur Smith has got him making smart decisions with his arm and loves taking advantage of his legs, combined with a strong defense, and the Steelers really were that perfect landing spot.
Still needs to hold on to the ball better as a runner, but nothing would warm my heart more than this being the kind of trade both teams win from.
Lets just get rid of the first quarter and this could be a good nfl team!
or an elite return manA QB you can win with. Every QB the Bears have had since Orton the coaches and GMs refused to do it.
Come on 4th rounder. Baby needs a new +65yd FG kicker
I agree. But he can’t control that.I feel like Fields is being a bit overrated this season.
Currently, he ranks 15th in completion %, 21st in yards per attempt, 27th in passing yards per game, 15th in QB rating, 20th in QBR, and 25th in TD passes.
The media talks about him like he's a top 10 QB this year, but he's playing more like the 15th-20th best QB in the league.

To be fair, that’s a big improvement for himI feel like Fields is being a bit overrated this season.
