Go Fields! I'm proud for his success. He was a hell of a guy here and I'm glad he's making the most of his second bite at the apple. Since everything about either Fields or Williams becomes a comparison of them, let me weigh in.

Bears have 148 points over 6 games (round up to 25 ppg) and are 4-2, on a 3 game win streak.

The Steelers have 124 points over 6 games (round up to 21 ppg), are 4-2, and just stopped a losing streak.

Seems to me like if there was a primetime matchup between the two, Chicago would be favored to win by 4 points. The team captained by Williams would be the winner. Fantastic, Williams would be favored to have the best stat, 1-0 in the head to head matchup!
Chicago wouldn’t be a 4 point favorite over the Steelers.

FTR they’re a 2 point favorite at Washington in 2 weeks. Vegas likes us. I’d bet most people think Commanders would be a favorite in that game. -2 on the road. That means it would be like -4 at home.

Well, maybe they just aren't big on Washington. I doubt it. That number really seems like they believe in Chicago.

I’m curious to see what the offense looks like with Russ. If they start clicking it’s probably the final straw in the “is Fields good” debate. Of course Russ sucks…. so that’s probably not happening and they spend the rest of the season debating who should start in Pittsburgh. I definitely don’t miss that shit.

Most likely Fields will come in after Wilson loses a string of games. Or garbage time.

Well that sucks, only needed a few more games to get that 4th.

Mike Tomlin says Russell Wilson “proved his health last week” and confirms he is “in consideration” to start Sunday. Won’t rule out playing both QBs. Why go away from Justin Fields at 4-2? Tomlin says in part: “You better have your foot on the gas at all times.”

Well if they play both maybe they do get enough snaps in. 🤷‍♂️

the tweet doesnt say it is a lock that Wilson starts against the jets even

but, assuming Wilson does start, the jets defense hopefully shows him a bad time to where they go right back to JF. you could certainly pick a more advantageous matchup for russ' first game as a steeler

That’s not how being odds work. The winless lions could be 10 point favorites over the 16-0 Patriots, if for whatever reason, there was a massive amount of money bet on the Lions, and the book makers needed to set the spread and give points to the Pats, to get an even amount of money bet on the Patriots.

The public can usually tell who is the better team, and money talks. But the book makers give zero fucks about what team is good, and what team sucks. The line and spread exist for one reason: to get an equal amount of money bet on both teams. If money starts coming heavier on one team over the other, the line and spread adjusts, so that the money bet, evens out again.

The Bears were only 1.5 point favorites over the 1 win Jags in the UK.

Why? Because 1.5 points got an equal amount of money bet on the Bears, and the Jags. Bettors determine the spread, and always have.

They still have to be accurate in setting the lines or the sharps (professional bettors) will break them.

No the Fields good debate is over. Only argument left is if Russell is cooked; was his 2023 season his last good season?

You like that OL and WR core?

They're setting up Russell to fail because they guaranteed him an opportunity to start in order to get him to sign. Frazier is out and the Jets just got Adams, Russell is gonna get pressured like mad against that Jets DL.

If they go down early they'll go right back to Justin for the Giants game and Russell will either accept being the backup or get released.

Yeah, I'm sure that's it. They want 35 year Russell Wilson to fail so they're benching Fields

Uh huh

Who starts the Giants game?

Pretty sure the Steelers are worried about their next game, which is the Jets.

The point is, if Fields was playing as well as you think, the switch would have never been made at all

I don't think anything is official, but I do think the fact that Tomlin changed his stance on reps is significant. Last week, he kept all the reps with the 1's with Fields and talked about not wanting to disrupt Fields routine as the starter. Now, he is splitting reps with the 1's. Maybe it doesn't happen this week, but I think it's now more likely than not that a change is coming.

Jets -1.5 at Steelers seems like a easy Steelers play here regardless of who starts. Steelers pass rush is going to destroy Rodgers on that hobbled leg of his.

it might be a blessing in disguise so early in the season. Hopefully and likely Wilson will falter and then then turn back to Fields for likely the rest of the season.

I'd imagine Wilson has a pretty short leash.
