How is that at all implied by what I wrote?

Your response made it seem like you would be too scared to have differing viewpoints.

Do you actually need this in the sentence?

Not necessarily, but it isn't wrong, either. In addition to not being incorrect, it properly captures my amazement that someone could create such a ridiculous notion from what I originally said.

No, we're not scared of it, it just doesn't usually happen. We've disagreed on a couple of things before on the show, but situations like that have been very few and very far between.

Getting back on topic:

Maybe one of the best hitting coaches in the game, can get DeWitt back on track. His career will take a different turn.

That, and you have to remember that he had to deal with pitching rotations like San Francisco and San Diego quite a bit this year.

Yeah but you have to be able to hit good pitching. I'm hoping he turns it around and I think JH is too.

We got rid of Theriot, anything that happens with DeWitt is just a bonus to me.

Lee and Ramirez both consider themselves "their own hitting coach" and don't listen. Fukudome only does better when his hitting coach from Japan comes down. Soriano has been great at times, but he's struggled as of late.

The people who have listened to him have had pretty good success.

Theriot got on base 32% of the time. That's worse than Soriano.

The fantastic Cubs minor league blog Wrigley Bound got some reports on the three new Cubs.

I would advise Lefty not to read it though because it mentions projected MLB futures for both prospects.

The cubs should have got some good pitchers who are ready for the Majors out of this deal, not just two minor leaguers and Dewitt. Lilly and Theriot are worth more in my opinion. Cubs should have done better. :turrible:

I think you may be over valuing our players a bit. I like that we got rid of the contracts and got 2 quality prospects

Theriot is worth next to nothing. He's a 30 year old about to go into his second arbitration year who has diminished skills and an empty batting average.

Lilly is at best a two starter for a playoff team (07 Cubs) and really a three starter who is a two month rental to his new team. The SP market was set a bit low to begin with and then the Cubs started seeing their other options fall out.

Be happy that A) the cubs dumped Theriot and B) saved around $2.2 million the rest of the year
