and like I said in the other thread, by all means provide me with whatever criticism you have of my writing. You won't offend me.

"Ramblings of a 5th grader with ADD" just sounds like the loud screams of an angry blowhard who has a need to critique everything that isn't his.

id let it go, not worth it

Yeah, I'm done with this one.

keep writing no matter what someone says about your articles. this isnt SI its a fan forum, if people want to read professional articles they need to go to professional sites and stop bitching about the writers here. The writers here are fans.

I will have to agree with leftys role models B and B that hitting coaches are overrated.

I liken them to coaches in the NBA: they will rarely (if ever) be the deciding factor in a game or over the course of a season, but really bad ones (Vinny Del Negro, Greg Walker) can still hurt you.

Didn't take Smit long to start his Cubs' career. In AA today he pitched 2.2 innings and allowed no runs on one hit. No walks and two strikeouts as well.

I haven't seen when Wallach will start yet.

theriot is just scrawny. come august he can barely get the ball out of the infield and he makes a .280 batting average look like .230. not to mention he has the range of a three keyed piano and just isn't solid defensively.

That's not true at all. This is Special person. Completely. He has very good range, it's his arm that isn't great. The fact that you used BA is pretty lame.

How about wOBA? His was .288 which is good enough for 9th worst in all of baseball.

His Range runs this season at second base is -1, and his overall UZR/150 at second is -3.

He has no range, no arm, and no offensive skill other than an empty batting average.

I'm not saying he is great, but a lot of it falls on that he sees more strikes than anyone in the MLB. He is at least close to the top, I don't want to look it up.

No range? -1 is JUST below average. I don't care about his UZR, especially since he has played just over 500 innings there this year. It is only really useful when you have 3 years or so to gauge it on, because it fluctuates so much.

I have to agree, Theriot has no range and is a POOR defender. That's one thing, I'm going to love in DeWITT. He has an arm and an average defender. Maybe better.

Well in one post you have taken his range from "very good" to "JUST below average". By the next post maybe you will be convinced.

Say whatever you want, Theriot ranked near the bottom in almost every hitting statistic that matters. If he is seeing more strikes than most people in MLB, shouldn't he be getting more hits? Those are pitches in the zone.

He should be getting more hits. He sucks. I never said he didn't suck.

He has JUST below average range this year. I'm not convinced that he has bad range, based on a stat that is known for being fluky. Sorry.
