Again if we are worried about stolen bases we are in a good position.

eaton leads off and can steal.

melky gets on base and can hit
than abreu who hits bombs and hit doubles with obp

than laroche who will do the same

garcia with pop and speed

than ramirez

not worried about teh stolenz baseszzzz

I don't mind the deal but I think the money is a bit outrageous or a guy with his history. Unfortunately the league dictates it at this point. I'm having a hard time placing these guys in the field though. In my head they are going to be playing 3 DHers....

1) The money was less than expected ($14 million per on average).
2) It's less than the going rate for his production
3) Even at the end of the contract he's better than the LF (Viciedo) we had so he'll be the LF for the entire length.
4) LaRoche and Abreu are more than adequate at first and should be as long as we have them, so ehile one will DH, neither have to. Abreu and LaRoche I would say defensively are average which is fine. Abreu improved a ton at first thanks to Paulie (he was an all start last year in my eyes because of that to the team)

good offensive player with some speed, lets see what he can do to filling the Rios role in South side summer nights. Good move.

A couple pitching prospects step up for both teams and a red line series could finally be here. Or at least it isn't 0% chance by June 1st like usual.

wont happen. like this cub fan realist that called the score today...one of the few fans who said that the cubs are a team of unknowns and that they are growing players they still have no idea how the spects will be in the mlb

What do you think is a reasonable slash line for the Melk man?

I would guess: 280/340/450 - 20 HR.

Melk Man should hit about 15-20 bombs.

So excited to see him in LF & not a clown like Viciedo.

He is far from a clown. He is at an age where most prospects begin their major league careers . No way I give this guy away. I think that he actually made some progress as a hitter last year and now is really under the gun. If they cannot get a very good 4th starting pitcher, a top prospect(and I mean top), or a viable catcher for him, I keep him and see what happens.

Melky has never hit 20 homers. Thats a stretch. Even on Peds he didnt hit 20.

No idea is not correct, I can give you more than unknown. Now, are we saying will they all succeed at the same time then thats an unknown. Im confident Bryant can handle himself in the majors. He can strike out a ton but I know the power is there. Baez could go either way but his power is very much real and will crank homers. Rizzo and Castro could have monster seasons. They are both going into their prime and both made big strides last year. Rizzo could legitimately become Votto with a little more K's and a lot more homers. I believe out bullpen is going to be extremely strong. I think our rotation will do its job. Bosio is a great coach and he has more talent then he has ever had. I do believe the Cubs will go through stretches of shit baseball, but they are going to be fun to watch when they are hot. This team has power coming out the ass and we have more behind them waiting. As it stands, Rizzo, Baez, Bryant, and Soler all have over 30 home run potential. That is rare in the majors now a days.

baez, soler, bryant have never hit any significant amount of bombs but you have them penciled in to do so. just because he hasnt doesnt mean he wont. melky has a better chance to hit 20hrs than specs that you think will hit all these home runs without a lick of experience.

Right, but he has flirted with upper teens a few times. He's still only 30, its not out of the question.

So, the word potential seems to have slipped your grasp eh? They all have that potential. Melky is what he is now. He isnt going to get better.

Cabrera is going to get a ton of fastballs for strikes to hit batting behind Eaton and in front of Abreau.

Was he ever arrested? I think you need to be arrested before you go to jail. Dynamite post again. I think we have another blacked out poster.
