Say whaaa? No Tallon Cat in the Bickell UFA stew?

ETA: Shit! Nevermind. I forgot the Hawks need Tallon Cat for other off-season purposes like taking Bolland with a side of freebie Lalonde + maybe throwing them a puck for Beach. My bad.

And now the Hawks wont be able to afford him... With each goal his yearly cost bumps another 500k a year.

I'm fine with him leaving if someone is going to give him more than 3mil (which teams will)

He's having a great playoffs - no doubt. But he's not a 4+mil player consistantly

I hear ya...I would think 2mil-2.5mil would be a good hit.

If they came out and gave him a 4yr 12mil (3mil per)...I could handle that...if it meant they were able to move FroFro or Bolland (which I hope they can anyway)

I think Smith will be up anyway (1 way deal 560k hit next year)...will be a good 3rd/4th liner next year - Same with Morin

I'm wanting Fro on the team, him and Kruger are gods when it comes to the PK and Fro saved us from a goal last night.

I say 2.5 tops, but if he's willing to walk for 3 I might be swayed. I'm terrified hes going to get a monster deal.

I guess luckily him and David Clarkson are UFA the same year. If 3+ is going to get me one of them, I'm spending it on Clarkson

Fro at 2.33mil...to just kill penalties....eehhhh

I think (hope) Smith...or another cheaper role player can be signed to do that

Where as Bick brings a skill the Hawks don't have - that size/grit.

Heck...if they lose Bick for the big $$ as a lot of people think (4+)...I wouldnt be upset if they brought Penner in for that 3mil

I'd take Clarkson over them both. He's big, tough, fights and scores goals.

Fro at 2.33 million to kill penalties, and to score big playoff goals :)

I think Clarkson plays the RW as well..not LW?

I don't see how NJ can let him go - they only have Kovy and Zajac signed as top 6 forwards....4 other forwards signed all make less than a mil

He's not a ten year pro (regardless of his age: 27). So, how can you say that with a straight face?

He's got three full NHL seasons and only took so long to crack the lineup because of a fairly stocked team. If you could project him (without the outliers) his average points are 37, but that could be trending up if continues to play this way. He could easily go up to 50 with 20-25 goals a year if he stays on a 1st or 2nd line.

I can say it with a straight face because at 27...he's never had a 20g season.

And in his 220 nhl games, he's scored 40g

And while he's had a great 16gms stretch...the 220gms is a larger scale of his game

Dustin Penner signs a 5yr-22mil dollar deal - after netting 29g and winning the cup as a 24yr old. While he topped 20g 3 of the next 4yrs...he was still considered overpaid for his inconsistancies as well

Its harder for bigger players to bring this consistant game for a full 82gms. 4mil is alot to commit to a guy in a cap era...who there's not the body of work with big wingers to bring it a full 82gms.

And I heard the same argument that Bolland would put up 60pts a year...if Q would just put him on the 2nd line and give him more PP time

And Bickell is an 8yr pro. Even his AHL stats (228gms - 51g - 58a - 109pts) he avg'ed .22gpg or 18 over an 82gms season
