I get a sad disgusting pit in my stomach with the feeling of Bickell being in Vancouver next season.

Anywhere but there, or Detroit

Vancouver is probably up against the cap, I'm guessing.

not even close. Anything north of the two's replace him with Ben Smith/Jeremy Morin.

THIS!

Mo just had a breakout season developmentally and Smith also was excellent! I gots ZERO problems with either of them finally getting their shot and making the Hawks---they've certainly done their share of AHL seasoning time, esp. Smith with 3 years.

Bickell now has exactly 2x as many goals as Toews/Kane combined this post season.

If Kane wouldn't have stolen his 2nd goal... he would have exactly 3x as many goals as Toews/Kane combined this post season.

LOL!

You trade Bolland and Frolik and you retain Bickell without much problem at all. Hell, even moving Frolik gives you the wiggle room to pay Bickell.

ALL CALL DALE!!!!

I would like to see the Hawks try to retain him somehow. No problems if it takes Bolland and Frolik if they can find takers for them.

Bickell wants to stay in Chicago..has been groomed within the system. Has shown his playoff value (he was pretty good in the short playoff season last year too). I think you try to retain those type of guys esp ones who are coming into their own now with Bickells size and hunger. I don't believe he is playing well only because its a contract year either. Not really a theory I buy into a lot even with the "lazy europeans"

They can make room for a couple guys on the farm to get their shot with the big club also without having to rid of Bickell if the cap space comes up. Not as if Stalbergs returning so there alone is a roster spot for someone like Morin or Smith if they want to give him a whirl again.

I want to keep Fro. My little unsung buddy. Bickell is awesome and 2013 Playoffs hero-ing but what he brings CAN be replaced by players in the system the Hawks have been grooming for exactly this reason---as depth to replace players who they can't keep. I hope they can find a way to keep Bicks and I would miss his size terribly. . .like really miss it. That is irreplaceable and the one area where I could be potentially swayed. Also, I would miss his doofiness in interviews and off the ice, LOL. Still, I think it's much more valuable to have a shut-down, Team D minded, opposition neutralizer and PK ****** like Fro---sometimes you can't get the newbies on the team to "get it" immediately or learn to adapt to the system very quickly and the Hawks are just at that point where the sticking with Kruger and Fro is paying HUGE defensive dividends now that they're wily vets, heh. Fro and Kruger eat up valuable minutes on that 4th while not allowing the opposition to score and that's pretty much the perfect definition of being very good role players. The ability to spread TOI and roll a 4th line that won't do you any damage is fucking clutch! Plus is there any doubt they PK like fucking BOSSES!

When the lockout ended and Bicklien got back from Europe he mentioned gaining the best cardio conditioning of his life while there and having a big effect on his play.

+1 for the whole, excellent post.

Not only don't they do any harm, they keep the puck in the offensive zone for long periods of time. Frolik is even hitting like I've never seen out of him.
