They are roster spots, just guys.

Look, if people have followed the hawks for more than just the 2010 cup season and have watch and followed all of the NHL, you would know what the goal is here with scotty bowman. look at how DET was constructed....it is a european style of hockey, finesse play, and goal scoring. That is what has kept det so potent for so many years. If people are worried that we are pussies that is fine, all we need is one guy like a john scott to play on the 4th line, seabrook can handle himself as well. so lets not get mad because we are not grinders.

Seabs is one of our best d-men, we can't afford him in the box for 5 mins or possibly tossed..

I actually agree except for one point. Detroit has always had guys that create havoc in front of the net and that is one thing that was missing at times. I don't want more guys that are like John Scott that are only good for hitting things. I want talented big guys that can stand in front of the net and create problems which will open space for Kane, Sharp and others to do what they do best.

Not overly physical but the Hammer can hit and with Campbell gone he ought to be kept remaining.

They do have cap and once they get Campoli signed, there's that final D man hole they can look for a physical player, who can actually play hockey opposed to Paul Bunyan.

One thing we don't have is the big Holmstrom type... Kopecky has the heart and knowledge of that role, but none of the skill.

Another stay at home bruiser to pair with either Leddy or Campoli with Hammer pairing with the other guy would be great. Then just address center and maybe a guy that could be a presence in front of the net. Fun to imagine what the Hawks can do with cap space for the first time in two years.

In some ways, less is more with the freed up cap room.

The NTC also made that a big limitation.

No, I am saying off of the Panthers roster I feel like the Hawks could have done better.

all they have had is holmstrom, the rest of the team is line to line.

Wouldn't be opposed to Weber, but I think the point of the Campbell move was to make it so less cap space was devoted to defense. I feel pretty good with the first 5 guys if they resign Campoli. Adding a decent stay at home guy would be my choice. Not sure what is out there that would fit the bill though.

:shifty:

The Cup are gonna get Adrian Gonzalez for Matt Garza... if Boston's lucky they'll get Wells (future Cy Younger) too, so the Hawks can get Weber, obviously.

If you are responding to my last post, I was just taking an unseen shot at CO, not serious.
