Aaron Rogers fell to the later half of the first round for concerns about how much he liked football. When it comes to QBS teams fall in and out of love for odd reasons.

What really surprised me was SF going with Lance and trading all that to get up to him. But so far he hasn't looked bad at all. Mac Jones looks decent for a rookie as well.

I recall Rodgers falling because Jeff Tedford QBs had a stigma as being system guys(Akili Smith, Kyle Boller, David Carr, Joey Harrington, and Dilfer unless I'm forgetting someone). People questioning Rodgers' passion to play is interesting.

Fields is a great draft pick, anyone that doesn’t think so is a fucking idiot.

Don’t care why he fell…
Just glad he did.
Still hard to believe he fell out of top ten.

It would be hilarious if the bears only drafted Fields because their medical personnel sucks

Feels like the epilepsy was the most concerning issue to teams in regards to Fields.

What if he has to retire in 8-10 years due to seizures you cant predict flaring up.

I like the pick. I was an advocate of him being the only real NFL QB along with Lawrence.

But he's been crowned by CCS before playing a snap...that usually goes well.

Keep in mind we gave up two 1sts for him. If he's not top ten - it's a disaster. There's a ton of pressure.

Odd timing to be discussing how stupid other teams are for allowing a player to fall so far in the draft after the Teven Jenkins fiasco. This discussion might make more sense a year or so from now.

Also, never forget that franchise QBs are always available, but great CBs only come around a few times a generation.
That quote is going to be right up there with some of the best. On the college level, Butch Jones calling his team "champions of life" was also one of my favorites.

Thoughts?

He hasn’t had issues with epilepsy up to this point and I think most people dismissed it. It’s usually quite manageable with medication in regular people but there’s no data on professional athletes, especially one that deals with head injuries on a consistent basis.

So who knows especially with the bears medical staff.
I would he and his agent negotiated a plan with the Bears about how to track his illness and help prevent any further injury. Epilepsy is a complex illness, with a lot of variables. I want Justin to have a great career, and be a great Bear, but I don't want him risking his long term health.

My youngest has epilepsy. Had 4 seizures when he was 15. Put on a medication after the first seizure.. it made him extremely sick and he had another a few days later... more med adjusting... They changed him to a new medication and he hasn't had a seizure since. He played hockey in high school, college, and the AHL. A few concussions. No seizures. Does that mean he'll never have one again? Of course not. He gets a blood test to checks his meds levels every 6mo.

I don't know the type of seizures Fields had, but chances are he'll be just fine if he hasn't had one in a long time. And IF Fields ever does... then they'll adjust his meds.

Another shitty move by Ryan Pace to take a chance on a player that other teams had medical concerns with.

Pace has gotta go.

You cried when we traded for him. If you were an advocate for him why would you bitch when we tried going for him?

A QB that isn't worth the risk for a 9th may be well worth the 11th. It's not like we took him 2 picks later in the 3rd round.
