Well, the Toronto Maple Leafs AHL farm team is the... Toronto Marlies.

So, probably not.

Is there a proximity rule at all?[/quote]

I assume if that happened Atlanta's team would be moving closer to say, ATLANTA!

How sweet would it be to have the Ice Hogs here, or at the Sears Center, and the Hawks down town? IHF would not be happy but I bet most Chicago fans would be.

No I meant a close proximity rule... how come none of the farm teams besides the Marlies off the top of my head are usually somewhat close but not in the same city?

Flyers used to be right next door to their farm team. The Phantoms played at the Spectrum and Right Across the street the FLyers played at the Wauchovia. Since the Spectrum has been set to be demolished the Phantoms were moved.

Lack of facilities and potential scheduling conflicts would be my best guess.

Which is exactly why I said the Wolves would be moved. It's already common knowledge that Levine is pursuing an NHL team. IE the Sabres.

It's only a matter of time.

Much easier to get in and out of Rockford than Chicago. Leave them there....

The problem with rockford is its not very accessable to "most" of the core of suburban chicago.

There are plenty of places that arent a ***** to get around that are more centrally located.

You wont get me out to rockford to see an AHL hockey game. On the otherhand when I was still in bloomington/normal for college, I went to a bunch of ECHL Bloomington Prairie Thunder games.

There are plenty of options in the south north and west suburbs that would be more appealing, and honestly would probably get a much bigger draw than out in rockford.

No offense to rockford residents, If I were you I would want them to stay there too, but I am not, so I would love to see them move to another location in the chicago area.

First off, if you have never been here for a game then you should get here for one. I travel to Chicago for games and I figured I made 21 games in Chicago last season including the post season.

Second, unless they were to get an exception OR the Wolves were to move, the AHL franchise from Rockford can not be in the suburbs due to a proximity rule. So, either come here for an AHL game featuring your future Hawks or go the pathetic Allstate Arena and watch good hockey in a terrible enviroment.

BTW, unlike you, many Chicago Blackhawks fans make trips out here to see our games and some of them do it numerous times throughout the season.

WE only live 18 miles from the UC but it takes us usually at least an hour to get there.

We are 60 miles from Rockford and the TRAVEL TIME is almost the same.

Chris I don't think that's a diss to Rockford and I like coming there for game, mostly because of a certain good friend living there, BUT if the Wolves were to be moved closer to Atlanta and the Hogs closer to Chicago, I'd jump for joy and most definitely catch a lot MORE AHL games. It's just too far to drive PLUS driving to 50 plus Hawk games. It gives us the opportunity to see the Hogs more often when the Hawks are out of town.

I would be for moving them to the Sears Center. It's close, it's a great building.

Awesome.

Not going home it isn't. Nor would it be driving to Rockford on a Friday night using 90.

I'm not a huge fan of the Rosemont Horizon. It's a shitty building for just about every even they have there. Music, Sports, they all suck in that building. Without a Doubt. I would NOT go to many games if that was the venue they chose. Nope.

You haven't done it very many times if you haven't seen a State Cop. And on Friday night 90 is beyond FUBAR going North West.
