I seem to recall a poster saying that the "Pax" part of "GarPax" was going to be staying.

He is still with the team, but quite possibly moved out of the way. Depends on what you believe.

"Senior Advisor" sounds like a lot like "professor emeritus." Sure, he's probably been moved out the way, but my point has always been that he's never going to be considered "fired."

From what I've read, advisor but not with the team daily.

Damn, disappointed he's not gone from everything, but not being involved in basketball operations means even his advisor role is not on the basketball side. We'll see what happens, but I'm really going to hate if they use it as a crutch for things quietly not getting better down the road.

Welll...... fuck

Meanwhile, John Paxson, who had been the team’s top basketball executive since 2003, will move to a new role as senior advisor of basketball operations.

I find it strange, but I don't know the intricacies of the position, that he came in right away and brought over the assistant GM from the pelicans to be.... assistant GM, while now he has to look for a new GM? Won't the GM want to bring in his own guys? The nuggets guy was hired too although I haven't seen what his position is. Pat Connelly?

Except they made it very clear with Forman that he will have no input into basketball operations. Paxson will still be providing input.

well, Forman got fired...so yeah, of course he will have less input than Pax going forward lol
