I think this is great to be honest. I didn't think i would watch a single game this year. At least a backcourt with butler, rhondo and wade it will be SOMETHING to watch

remydat needs his own forum/subforum as well. Too many thought-provoking postings on a variety of topics...they need to be housed in a centralized location for maximum effect.
A "The Hawk Meltdown Forum" would be a grand idea as well. Instead of deleting threads when he goes insane, move them, just make sure he has no access.

To me this is a better team than if they had just kept everybody from last year and drafted 2 players. Last year's roster didn't get the job done and was going to be one year older and looking at how to make an exit. What I think the Bulls have done is get a better team on the floor than anticipated for this year without compromising the longer term plan of having cap space for 2 max deals next summer. And without tanking which the organization finds unacceptable. Sorry they are a business not internet GMs.

I liked the Rose trade because Lopez was signed and while Grant had not been able to show much in the triangle he didn't lose the potential that had the Bulls interested in drafting him and he's not injured. It looks like they got a lot more for Rose than anybody here was predicting they could. I like it a lot better than trading Jimmy for a bunch of picks and a couple of players of the same level as what they got for Rose.

Again signing Rondo isn't a great plan but for one year I think it's worth the gamble. I didn't think it was enough to make much of an improvement over past year. But now signing Wade in my eyes instantly makes this team a 3-4 seed in the East up from 7-8. One thing ignored is toughness and I don't mean playing hard all the time I mean get in your opponent's face tough and stand up for yourself. Wade is a tougher player than Rose, Gasol or Noah and hopefully can bring that out even more in Butler. He's also more of a leader than anybody they got rid of, Noah was an emotional player and got some players fired up but nobody ever followed up when he got them excited. He's also the closer that Jimmy wasn't consistently and Rose wanted to be but just wasn't.

Now you've got Rondo playing on his 4th or 5th team and knowing he could and probably will get cut loose. he needs to play his game, not act up and show other teams that he deserves another contract. If he is selfish, shoots too much or is a locker room disruption he will cost himself big money. Wade knows that if he takes care of himself he'll have 2 options. Stay with the Bulls and try to attract 2 max FAs for he and Jimmy to make a run. Or he opts out and shops for a team to win a championship, the downside of that is it will be for less money.

You've got Mirotic and McDermott who now become role players off the bench. If they have any hope of resigning or going elsewhere they have to shine in those roles and not act like they should be starting or other teams won't have an interest.

If Gibson can just stay healthy he could opt to stay next year or look for that last good contract. Lopez has to think he landed in paradise. He doesn't have to try and up his offensive game just rebound and play defense and he's part of a good team this year with potential to sign FAs and be great next year. Valentine has the luxury of adjusting to the NBA in a back up role and isn't under pressure to step right in for 30 minutes a game. He'll likely get to start as Wade takes a game off every now and then.

Y'all silly. The news was in the other Wade thread, but it's probably buried under reactions at this point.

Yeah. Thats about how I see it also. Reinny knew that if his team tanked, his revenue would fall so he went to his vault and spent some of his pesos. The thing that is going to be fun to watch is how Freddie deals with this team. Lots of egos to manage for a college coach.

So they have a coach who wants his team to be built on ball movement and 3pt shooting/spacing. Then they go our and assemble the worst shooting team in the league and a roster full of ball dominant players.

BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe they can be good enough to pick 12-15.

They'll be good enough to get a pick outside the lottery while still being horrible to watch

I wonder if this will change the negative perception about the FO that has allegedly prevented top FAs from signing in Chicago.

The fact that Dwayne Wade is the top FA signing in Bulls history just furthers that perception, IMO.

People are saying the move could help them attract more free agents in the future. Highly doubt it. What does signing a 35-year-old Wade do for the future? Nothing.

hes still a big name and is well respected...so i do think him coming to the Bulls could go a long way in erasing the stigma that no big free agents sign in Chicago. its like they're scared and wait for somebody to test the water first

knowing GarPax they will pull some BS and ruin any progress in us becoming an attractive destination though

it makes the Bulls cool again. Wade will be asking for help from players to help him win one in hometown and selling them on team.

He will teach the young Bulls how to work.

He will command respect for his coach by example.

Boogie Cousins on a max is in play. Boogie Cousins at trade deadline is in play.

CP3 is in play.

But the absolute best part for me, is those fools barking to the east about how much dog they have in them when they are actually all soft sissy cakes. I want to see the look on Rose's face when he plays the "all dog", his former team. roof roof

so the new "Hoiball" is shooting 3-11 from 3 and holding opponents under 75 to win huh?

Well, at least our young athletic bench of McBuckets-Gibson-Mirotic will be shock and awe of speed and quikness.

Thinking about bench chemistry is secondary, but who fits at PF? I really like the BBall IQ of the bench.

Valentine-McBuckets-Mirotic-Portis are all technicians of the game, exploiting angles, passing, shooting, scoring. They can do it all.

Its going to be hard on ego-s to mix this team together properly, because are we really going to slot Gibson in that starting line-up? Mirotic may make the most sense because he needs those other ego-s to control him. Leaving

Valentine-Butler-McBuckets-Gibson-Portis and get Butler out, slide Grant into PG.

Once again we are deep but have a difficult mixing issue.

Snell/Gibson may be the last of the fat, but if we can keep them they are valuable injury depth.
