YOU KNOW WHAT REALLY KILLS ME?

HOW EVERYONE HAD A PROBLEM WITH BEN GORDON BECAUSE OF HIS SIZE AND LACK OF DEFENSE, BUT ITS OK FOR NATE ROBINSON WHO HAPPENS TO BE EVEN SMALLER AND A WORSE DEFENDER THAN B.G EVER WAS...........

Double standard?

Ok as much as I hate getting roped into another BG debate, there are some things that have been said that are just patently untrue regarding his situation. 1) He never cried to the media EVER. Did he answer questions when asked directly about his contract situation? Yes, but he never ONCE brought it up on his own accord. 2) After the 07-08 season, in which he led the team in Scoring, 3pt% & FTM & FTA AGAIN, JR & Gar Foreman flew to London to personally woo Deng with a large contract extension, after he had rejected an offer the previous season just as BG had. BG's agent was given 1 offer from the team & told you have til the start of training camp to sign it or there's no deal. Take it or leave it.

Is it that egregious that the leading scorer of the team the past 2 seasons would want to be duely compensated for it? Everyone can argue ad naseum as to whether he deserved to be a $10M player or not, but considering the market for scorers in the league at the time, BG's estimated value was not unfathomable. If you were in that situation, how would you react? I'm betting most of you would ***** & moan & pout & threaten to not show up. Did BG EVER do that? NO. BG was a professional to the very end & it disgusts me when I hear "fans" calling him "selfish" or "cancerous" or "money hungry". This is a guy who gave this team some unforgettable performances, incredible 4th qtr hot streaks, & helped put the Bulls back on the map again.

Call me a BG apologist if you want but there's no denying that he was never fully appreciated by the organization, the media, or the majority of fans in this city. Regardless though, I am happy with the team we have & would not have wanted BG @ $11M per, but that doesn't mean I completely disregard everything he's done for this organization. I'll step off the soapbox now.

Just like I been saying....
Thank you Diddy for posting THE FACTS.....
They won't listen to me, but purhaps they will listen to you..
And like i said, PaxGar were to busy sniffing Loul Deng and Hinrichs buttcrack to realize that they were loosing there best player (Ben Gordon) in the process.
And like you said, BEN GORDON SHOWED A LOT OF CLASS AND RESPECT THROUGHOUT HIS WHOLE CAREER AS A BULL..

AS A MATTER OF FACT, IT WAS BEN GORDON THAT MADE THE BULLS, "DA BULLZ" AGAIN.

Godbless you Diddy.. :beerbang:

Diddy ky yeah muthafuckaz!!!!!!!!

To hell with BG...he is not here and he doesn't matter. The fact is, he went to the press and said he should be paid more than anyone else on the team. At the time Ben Wallace was on the team. They asked him...should you be getting paid more than Wallace? He reiterated that he should be the highest paid player. Wallace was making 15mil a year.

By the way...anybody knock down the doors to take on BG and his contract lately? I didn't think so. I have given BG his props while he was here...but arguably his best season as a Bull....Luol Deng had a better year.

The Bulls are not trying to replace Gordon...when he was here they were trying to replace him! The Bulls didn't resign him and from Gordon's history over the last few years, rightfully so.

I agree...to hell with BG.

He wanted a lot of money when he is nothing more than a 6th man in this league who can occasionally it up. He sucks at defense and is very undersized for his position (which makes him a better 6th man). Gordon had an ego to get paid starters money. He got what he wanted, and he hasn't lived up to that contract one bit. Management knew this and made the smart business decision not to. They put an offer on there that they figure BG wouldn't take, and he didn't take it as a result.

I've also always heard Reinsdorf didn't like negotiating with Gordon's team. Management has loved negotiating with Deng's team, and it was a clear and easy process. Management also loved the fact Deng did this thing call play defense, which is what Paxson has always had as his philosophy and now with Thibs as coach, is definitely a philosophy (Gordon would be joining Boozer in the 4th quarter sitting on the bench).

Its funny to me that you just said Gordon is too small for his position, LoL.
If that's the case, then what is Nate Robinson....too big?
