Brett Wallach started for Peoria yesterday; he pitched 5 innings giving up 3 hits, 2 earned runs 1 BB and K 5. He came over in the Lilly trade.

Kyle Smit pitched in relief yesterday; he pitched 3 innings, 2 hits, 0 runs and struck out 2. He also came over in the Lilly trade.

I guess Reggie Golden is out for the rest of the AZL Cubs season. Hayden Simpson and Golden will both play in Fall instructional leagues though.

Yeah, he should hopefully pitch in a Fall Instructional league.

I think he got mono right after he got drafted, so the Cubs just shut him down until the Fall Leagues start.

After a horrible first half, Hak-Ju Lee has brought his average all the way up to .282.

He said in an interview after the Futures Game that he was trying different things that weren't working in the 1st half.

Anyone think he'll get promoted to Daytona soon (as in this year)?

Lot of home runs last night in Iowa. We might have another solid catcher in Robinson Chirinos.

He has to get promoted...so I say yes.

He will only get promoted with Jae Hoon Ha. I read somewhere that the Cubs are wanting to keep them together, so that they are comfortable.

Outside of his walk rate, which might be 2%, Ha is arguably producing well enough to be promoted as well.

There is only about a week or two left in the season though, so they will probably not move anywhere until next season.

Oh my God, what an awful walk rate. 3.4% is going to have to go up.

I was thinking the same thing though. I say promote them next year. Let them finish the year out strong.

Ya, I forgot that the season ends so early in the minors. Is Peoria in the playoffs? And is Daytona?
