The AZFL starts today and 2 Cubs are in the starting lineup and a Cub is starting.

Josh Vitters is batting 5th and playing 1B. In his first AB he lined out with 2 on-base.
Ryan Flaherty is batting 8th and playing DH.

Jake Muyco is starting and so far pitched on inning giving up nothing, but has a K.

Vitters may finally be breaking out. I still have some doubts, as his lazy batting approach and poor plate discipline will be hard to overcome and it's something thats been with him since before we drafted him, but, he is looking good in Arizona. Like waldo wrote, he was 3-4 the night before hitting a rocket of a home run.

And his 1-4 is a bit misleading, as he nailed another bomb with bases loaded into center field with 1 out, and the center fielder (not sure who it was) made a great diving catch. Just unlucky for Vitters IMO, if that had dropped, it would have been a base clearing double or triple.

Just wondering, but how would it have been a base clearing double(if it had been a double), when there is 1 out? The runner would have had to hold up.

I don't know how fast/slow Vitters is, and, throwing the ball to home plate is farther then to 3rd from where the ball would have landed (left center).

Well no shit it's happened before. Pretty much everything has happened before. I was wondering how he was sure about it. I didn't know where the ball was hit, he said left center and that cleared everything up. Calm down.

Calm down? I made a statement. Your acting as if a bases clearing double is really rare. It happens quite a lot, like McCann in the AS Game.
