Fields would have 5 completions in this game and several more sacks taken. Probably would make s few big splash plays with his legs.

This performance is equally as bad if not worse then the Fields/Cleveland game for the oline. The difference is Williams is getting rid of the ball to mask the massive leakage.
Imagine using those resources on a top, 1st round Olineman and a playmaking 1st round TE, etc. Thats "The Haul" dude... its what we could have gotten to add to a veteran team.... to add to Odunze and a couple of others.

Ask DJ who he would have preferred throwing the ball to him tonight?? -- Fields all day. The players know. We saw that tonight from DJ - pure frustration.

That said, I merely made an observation. Don't get your panties in a bunch. Caleb is our guy now so its all water under the bridge. I/we support Caleb 100% or until the wheels fall off.

Nuff said.

Lots of bitchin in here. I had this down as a loss.they actually did better than I thought. Now he has 5-6 winnable games in a row where he can get better for the difficult late season nfcn run.

There is zero running game so you are asking Williams to do everything

And under pressure all night. Miscommunications, not a lot of bad throws but some. Defense kept them in it. That blitz protection needs work. So does the running game as you said. Can't be one dimensional.

Obviously not water under the bridge if you gonna bring it up constantly.

In the mod forum planning your ban
He needs to play to learn. There will be days like this but oline needs to at least approach average

The issue I see is the Oline is gonna kill his confidence. He has fire feet and his eyes are dropping. Rome has been disappointing plus Waldron is terrible.

My panties are just fine, but thanks. My post also wasn't a "defend Williams" post.

Your twisted fantasy of what could have been with better resources is incredibly delusional and par for the course for this board.

I don’t think he looks bad all things considered. Our oline looks like a bunch of old ladies getting run over by a truck though.
It doesn't look good. But I'd say both trubisky and fields had way worse olines. He's missing everything that is in his control, which worries me.

Seeing what I saw in DJ's face was pretty fucking scary.

Keenan is clearly on Caleb's side but if he ain't playing what good is that. DJ looked absolutely at 10 on about 5 plays today. Caleb needs to get his shit together ASAP because this team knows they're ready to win right fucking now. The fan base has his back but the lockeroom might not.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
You know what would be cool? An offensive line.

Caleb isn't ready. It's his 2nd game. But what's the excuse for the oline? What's the excuse for Waldron's shitty playcalls? How's that running game going?

Those need to be fixed in order for Caleb to have a chance.

Caleb looked great in his first couple of series.

Not so great after being hit over and over again, you could see the panic setting in and it affected his passing and mechanics. Which is understandable.

We wil see what he’s made of after that.

I see alot of apologists already and this kid has a way better situation than JF ever had. Funny one is managing games and 2-0 now and the other can't hit the broadside of a barn. I'm sure they'll gladly give a fourth if they make it into the POs.

Who brings it up constantly? This is my first time my guy. First time ever making a post about what could have been.

That said, it was my first but it may not be my last. This topic is fair game. We made a decision to give up on a young player and more draft picks, and maybe the chance to add another veteran star, in exchange for Caleb. Although I support Caleb and I think Poles has been doing a great job (aside from our continued Oline woes), as a paying fan I have a right to question whether that was the best decision.

Like I said though... I hope Caleb proves me wrong

I'm proud of the D but I've seen this movie before. The D starts to wear down. They put the Bears in a position to beat the Texans away. They won the game last week. They feel a need to carry the team. They are 300% on every play. Soon will be the game where 3 top defensive players get carted off with injuries. Then the team is total shit.

Offense needs to get better quickly.
