Here's one of those blitzes, Lines fault in your world that this ended up being intentional grounding? Hilarious.

No, why do you think that?

Why do some people live in this binary world where you can't admit Williams has things to work on while also criticizing the line & the coaches?

I would if I were the First Pick of the draft. That's who he is right? Funny the reaction from certain people like you! When the facts destroy your simple little world bubba.
Lmao why you so angry

Here's one of those blitz's and he, CW, had the back wide fking open and didn't throw it and instead took an intentional grounding. It most likely would have gone for a TD and he didn't throw. Within 2.5 seconds which is standard time even in a blitz. Look at it!! What you said was nothing but an excuse, he had plays he didn't make. I can post others where he could have easily beaten the blitz down on their goal line. Come on, you're letting your quest for the GOAT QB in the draft, face reality and this is what the number one pick missed right here.

Yes, rookie in his 2nd game isn't a polished product. Thanks for letting us know

I guess #1 pick isn't what it's sold as.
I get the feeling you eat different colored crayons because you think they're different flavors

Not giving up on him yet. But aside from a strong arm and nice escapability (nice tools in other words), his game play vision/accuracy leave a lot to be desired. I would have thought by now we would have seen a lot of signs of him being elite.... but right now he is looking like a bigger Bryce Young with slightly more arm talent.

Lets hope we end up laughing at all these hand wringing posts in a few months.

There’s a chance he might not come around until next year. If that’s the case the so be it. I just home the o line doesn’t get him killed.

You usually see signs. Like last year, CJ Stroud jumped out right away - the talent was obvious. Again, not giving up on him yet.... but there are things that are troubling. You ask me what I see?

I see a guy who plays much shorter than his listed height.... because he is shorter.... but moreso, because he throws at a lower angle.... so he will need lanes to throw through, he will have lots of batted balls and when he does not get lanes, his vision will be more cloudy and his ball less accurate.

This is an early sign I see..... hopefully he can erase that perception in the weeks to come.

The other thing.... he pouts. I know he is young but he is really going to have to grow up or else he risks losing the respect of his teammates.

I know you're hoping for the best, all Bear fans are. O line has to be addressed, at this point, not even the two ends or the left Guard are playing well. Center is a bust, NATE is a bigger bust. Everyone of them let someone through hardly touched yesterday. Williams had what? 29 pressures, I think I read. With no effective run game, no one blocking with a damn, teams just sit back and rush 5 or blitz with a free rusher. Simple really.

Of course, as I posted on another thread, he has hit two "great talents" in the hands in the end zone for TD's and both couldn't make those grabs. Last night, several of his back shoulder throws ended up looking like horrible underthrows because the Wr and CW where not on the same page. Who's that on? No clue. He floated several guesses up into the air, again do to pressure or running for his life, where his teammates didn't help him much at all. Even with all that pressure last night, what 7 sacks, he did better than game 1. I felt like there was an improvement. As long as he continues to improve perceptively, the D will keep this team in these games. Houston only scoring 1 td? Pretty damn solid. And they couldn't run the ball either.

Don’t get me wrong, Stroud is a good QB. However his rookie situation was so much different than what Williams is experiencing right now.

Lets hope you are right. It would absolutely suck to have to cycle out and re-cycle back in a new QB in another 3/4 years while we waste a defense that we can contend with.
I very well may not be right, but a rookie QBs career should never be judged based on their first 2 games of the year. It’s fine to make observations and opinions but things can change.

I mean Peyton Manning was pretty awful his first two games his rookie year (rookie year in general). I’m not comparing Williams to Manning at all, but things can get better. I also think the narrative on Williams would be a little different if his WRs didn’t drop those should be TDs.

I'm with the folks who are frustrated---totally get it.

Caleb was billed as being an amazing talent. Fill in the adjective. Fill in the "best since X year".

It would've been so fucking cool to see him immediately live up to that and look great, especially as long-suffering Bears fans.

But it's looking like instead we're going to have to go through what the vast majority of fanbases with great QBs have to go through---waiting for it to click and waiting through the initial struggles.

Yeah, it fucking sucks. I wish so much CW had just come out and killed it. I know you guys wish so too. But reality is reality----We're going to have to wait to know for sure one way or another. Rookie struggles are real. Who knew?

That's because most of you guys don't know who the heck these guys are coming into the league and bought into the Patrick Mahomes (who sat his first season) BS hype, which I said multiple times was ridiculous.

You're really painting with a broad brush. If you have someone in mind, name them. But who are "you guys"? I made plenty of posts saying we should all expect Williams to go through rookie struggles, especially early on.
