Stålberg is also eligible for arbitration, but no word if he's also filing.

I have a feeling Campoli will sign before it goes the whole way.

It would be funny if this thing goes to the arbitrator. If I'm the Hawks and presenting my case, I would just keep showing the video of Campoli ending the Hawks season in game 7 with his terrible turnover.

Then Campoli just has to show video Keith making the same exact bonehead play this past season to nullify it.

Granted, there's no way Campoli deserves Keith money. It will be interesting to see how this and Frolik plays out. Stalberg I couldn't care less about.

I believe it has to be by 5 PM today and I would assume that's EST based on the NHL being EST-based so the deadline for filing for arbitration is over.

Well, with two players filing for arbitration the Hawks will have a new buyout opportunity for Olesz if they so choose.

How? Olesz will not be cleared to play until sometime in Sept, which is past the Buy out window?

I was pretty sure there's no way at buying him out this year.

plus he comes with a NTC as of July 1st. So either he plays in Chicago or gets waived to Rockford. If they waive him and recall someone will surely take half his contract and stick us with three year penalty at 1.5 Mil.

Have you read or heard about clearance to play in Sept?

They were talking about it just after the trade. He's "expected" to be back sometime in September. They were going over options of dishing his salary. Basically there are none. In order to deal Campbell they were taking back a bad contract no matter the team. Who knows maybe a change of scenery, teammates, and attitude will have this guy kicking ass. From all I've read he has the tools. Can't be worse than Stalberg can he?

That's my hunch too. Campoli filed for arbitration last offseason too with OTT and they hammered out a deal before the hearing. Every player has a no-brainer obligation to themselves to file before the Player arbitration deadline if a deal hasn't been inked up to that point---it's just common sense covering your bases for "all outcomes" formality most times IMO. I guess time will soon tell if it's just needing more negotiation time or if he's truly goudging thinking he's worth more.
