I just don't see him staying, I don't know why. Just a hunch

Me too. I liked him until he ended our season in game 7.
I liked Bobby Hull until he hit the crossbar in Game 7 in '71.
I like how he played, I just don't like how you can have one good season and demand the world of a salary. Average your performance out and get what everyone else is with your tenure with comparable stats/ perfomances
I know that was in purple but seriously were you at that game? I was born that year but find it interesting reading about those who saw that game or attended.
I was not. I wasn't born til '88 but I like to be steeped in Hawks lore. I know that if Hull pots that goal and puts us up 3-0 things might have ended differently.

Agree but when you are playing the bulk of your career on a shitty Islanders team and a sub par Sens team it is really hard to go the stat road when comparing performances to other players around the league. Tricky one for sure. I feel sorry for the arbitrator in situations like these ones. You have to look at things subjectively and objectively and try to find a balance btw those two. Not an easy task.
If it were done like you would like then only players on good teams would ever have big pay raises. There lies the problem when going the stat road..there are too many other variables to consider. He played 19 regular season games (7 playoff games) on a pretty decent Hawks team and did contribute in those games. And one really shouldn't make a decision on 19 games should one?. But can you make a fair decision based on career numbers while playing on bottom dwelling problem teams like the Islanders?
So easiest thing one can do is go the way of comparing salary around the league.
It would be interesting to sit in on an arbitration meeting and to see just what sort of procedures and methods are used to evaluate a case and to reach a decision. I honestly have no idea what the specifics are. We should be allowed to know so we can get pissed off more. Cause it's fun getting pissed off.

Bingo. One play does not make or break a player or even a series. Fans just like to play it out that way. It is not like Sharp could not be blamed for missing that prime chance, or Crawford for letting the GMG in, or any other player on the team that did not do something.
Much ado about nothing with that play. Some people just need a scapegoat for most everything. Teams win as a team and lose as a team...something about them being called teams and such.
Crawford should have made the save. It is his job to stop all pucks esp when Alex Burrows has it. He cost us the season. Crawford should be shipped out.
Disagree. Sharp vs. Campoli - can't compare the two. Sharp did not bungle anything. Campoli on the other hand ended that game for us. Sharp is a talented star. Campoli is not. No contest here. The nerve of Campoli filing for arbitration - as said before I run that video of him ending our season in front of the arbitrator.
Right! Huet would've stopped that shot, easy!
You must love Jim Pappin then...........................
