We don't need to have a Wade-esque SG. Wishing for that, wont happen. We're better off filling the roles we need, and improving in areas that we can capitalize on other teams in game.

It's been fairly obvious that our missing piece, at least for the time being, is that legit #2 scorer. That has usually been imagined to be a shot creating SG. Problem is, there's not a whole lot we can do to get one. That is the role that is needed however. We have a very good supporting cast (granted half of them will be gone because keeping them is not financially feasible in FO's eyes) and decent #3 and #4 scoring options (Boozer and Deng) that I think could be really good next to a couple creators, the only thing missing is the other creator next to Rose.

However with the Nets making the moves they made, Miami being Miami, and the threat of NY getting their act together, we're in a tough spot. It's getting to the point where we almost NEED a guy like Wade to get us over the hump because of just the straight talent gap between other teams and us. Depth can only take us so far. Star power will get us farther.

Even in New York, they have options in trading Melo or Amare for another star that doesn't need the ball in their hands to have an impact.

Yeah, we had one of the best playoff games in NBA history. Against the Celtics, remember that? Game 6?

Those were fun times (and that's what got me into the Bulls again BTW), but I'd rather have the current Miami Heat than 09 Bulls though.

I expect winners. I want players who want to win.

I don't think it's a problem of not having guys who want to win, it's just that they're not good enough.

You can't want that man! You have to fall in love with mediocre players because they are on the Bulls...or you are not a fan. You can't acknowledge there are other players on other teams that are better and for the love of God don't like superstars! That's a no-no.

I agree. If all they get is Lee, then I'll be extremely disappointed.

Anyways, I'm tired of professional companies not being able to take risks. Bulls management are one of them. No confidence in any decision and there seems to be no plan. They really, really need to get their shit together.

Other Eastern Conference teams making moves and all Chicago's doing is figuring out whether to match for Asik. Fucking depressing.

NJ had TONS of cap space to make those moves. Boston also had ALOT of cap space which is how they got Terry. Miami hasn't done jack. All NY did was get JKidd. Other than NJ, there were no major moves in the East.

I love how people just forget the fact that it takes TWO sides to get a deal done. Or that outside of DRose, our best trade asset is our backup PF, who only makes $1.5M & we just so happen to really like & want to keep. This isn't NBA 2K where you can send JL3, Scal, & Jimmy Butler for D Howard.

If we get Courtney Lee, that is a big plus. We would be getting a young starting 2, who shoots over 40% from 3 & 80% from the line, & plays good D. Considering our payroll situation, that is a home run for the off-season imho.

I'm pretty sure you can't even do that in 2k. :smug:

But seriously, Courtney Lee would be a fine pickup, especially considering we have pretty much nothing to spend. In terms of building a championship team, we need guys like him. But other than trying to make a splash by trading Noah, Deng, or Gisbon for a star, I don't know what else the FO can do. If we can get Lee and don't even get him, that's where I have a problem.

Why the disappointment over Lee? He isn't a bad player, he isn't a superstar either, but he is decent and can help the Bulls on both sides of the ball.

Where are all of these people who claimed for months that the Bulls needed more shooters? Well here you go! And with an ability to defend his position too.

Because people want stars. They want Rudy ***...they want Danny Granger...they want...well...better guys than Courtney Lee.

But like Diddy said, for the money we have to make moves, Lee is a homerun. I wouldn't be disappointed if we got him, I'd just be disappointed in the fact that he was the best we could do. Not to bash on Lee, but he's not the answer.

I wish the Bulls acquired OJ Mayo. I know they don't have the money, but imagine the chemistry between him and Rose. They're already friends!

Unfortunately Jerry Reinsdorff won't allow Pax-Gar to go over the cap under any circumstance even if it comes between winning a championship or not..........Its all about the money to Jerry.........And baseball

People are failing to look at what the Bulls have to work with this off-season. We don't have a big trade exception like the Lakers do that can absorb a big contract, or massive cap space like the Nets to absorb 2 big contracts, or like the Celtics to pursue an upper mid level FA. There is not much we can do.

That's why it's a homerun in my eyes. While Lee doesn't necessarily match what we've been looking for in the off-season (combo guard), of the mini-mid to mid level guys, I'd say he's one of the best in this year's crop. He'd fill another need as a shooter. If Korver is gone, we will need a good quality shooter to replace him off the bench. Lee can be that guy & then some.

Wow...I don't think OJ Mayo is the difference between winning a title or not. And I wish you would back some of this stuff up with some semblance of factual representation. Reinsdorf won't allow those guys to go over the cap even to win a championship? Based on what? What evidence do you have of that?

Good grief man, calm down.
Must you knit pick at everything I do?
I didn't know CCS hired you to be the SP94 cop.

What evidence do you have to back up your claim that Jerry would go over the salary cap???hmmmm??????right....that's what I thought.

Its well known by any Bulls fan where Jerry Riensdorff stands when it comes to the salary cap issues.......I don't have to link shit for that one.

And where the hell did I even mention O.J Mayos name?

The shit I wake up to when I log onto this site.
Always expect heckling by Basketball PHD expert and Gods reincarnation of Naismith himself, Known as Hue Heffna.
