The cause of death was undetermined Right there. That fact alone should have put it to bed for anyone. - I think that's been made pretty clear. However the experts testified that choloroform was found on the remains and in Casey's car trunk as well as decomposed hairs. And how did she get in there? Who put her there? Whoever put her there doesn't mean that person killed her. The forensics were there to convict - the jury decided to ignore that. There was absolutely no proof this was a drowning or what the dopey alternate juror called 'an accidental death'. Sorry, but 2 year old little girls don't end up thrown into a forest in a bag with duct tape on their mouths and have that unreported. That is an absolute truth. The problem is, no one but the person/people involved know how she got there.

For all you know, I could have killed her and dropped that girl off.

Most of this thread agrees with you. US Legal System is still the best Legal System in the World, isn't it? They didn't prove it, she was found innocent.

Doesn't take anything away from the horrible tragedy. In fact makes it worse because what exposure do the other 1000's of similar tragedies get?

She was found not guilty. There's a difference.

TMZ reporting that Casey Anthony was sentenced to 4 years for lying to police officers. But since she has been in prison for 3 of those, that counts as time served. With credits for good behavior they are saying it looks like she will receive about a month or less of prison time.

fyi - the alternate juror said last night on TV that Casey was a "really good mother". Says a lot about this jury.

I suppose the jury system could be changed to where there are professional jurors. Either by hire or voted in....

I'm not a fan of Nancy Grace but I believe she got it right with this quote:

"Juries have been watching too much "CSI" - they want murder weapon, DNA, fingerprints. In this case, there was no blood, no murder weapon. They wanted things that didn’t exist. They wanted a murder weapon – the murder weapon was tot mom’s hands. I also think the jury didn’t understand the law or felony murder. All said, it was a bad jury and I do not think it reflects on the case the state put up."

You missed it. When a juror calls her a 'really good mother' it shows they were completely clueless to the case and what was going on.

LOL! They weren't clueless, rather they got it right. Maybe the prosecution should have continued for hard evidence. Or maybe they should have with held the Manslaughter charge for a later date. When and if they found more "hard" evidence.

Maybe Grandma and Grandpa did it? Who knows. Either way there was NOT enough evidence to convict her of Murder. All these idiots speculating were NOT on the Jury.

Enough already. Jesus fucking Christ.

Hey, Fluffball....

Quoting Nancy Grace and TMZ will not strengthen your case around here.

Maybe you should give up scalping and become a prosecutor-you're doing as bang up job as the prosecutor in this case did...

I didn't miss it. We already discussed that most jurors are not going to be the best and the brightest, just the most that can be influenced by the lawyers. Which is flawed.

I was pointing out that the opposite and similar flaw could also be in place with professional jurors. Ones that can be influenced in other ways depending on how they get the job...and probably build strong working relationships with judges and lawyers and such.

Neither is the best poison, but I will take a stupid juror over a professional juror. Primarily because the stupid juror does not keep their job.

The TMZ bit was an update to this thread I was sharing - which is factual and includes what her sentencing will be. The Nancy Grace quote I feel captures what I've been saying in this thread - and although not a fan of hers personally I feel she hit it on the head.

If you have a problem personally with my profession than I prefer you PM me about it privately - thx!

Okay got it. Let me ask you this - do you believe a case is won or lost on jury selection alone? Before the trial even starts? Some lawyers feel strongly that yes that is where the cases are won and lost - others not so much. I used to think no that it didn't matter but when I see a juror say she was a good mother I find myself scratching my head and thinking otherwise.

I should have typed not guilty. Either way they didn't convict her.

And she just recieved the full four years on four misdemeanors because of the profile of the case. 99% of any other aquittal would have had time served. Once again the media playing a factor.

She's going to serve a month or less per TMZ and they usually are spot on. Credits for good behavior and time served.

I think it is a combination. Since both lawyers agree to the selections the jury is probably more 50/50 to start with. The trial itself...along with preconceptions...and rules set by the judge have a far larger effect, IMO.

Also I take juror comments soon after a trial with a grain of salt. Many are probably not familiar with speaking to a reporter or camera, let alone public speaking. Mind racing and such and a need to say something. Some probably become attention hounds when there is a big trial and try to stir the pot a bit...just like on a message board.

Maybe the media has a hand in it, but I think it's for her protection.

Did anyone see a not guilty verdict coming down? She probably doesn't have any idea where she's going to once set free, and this gives her team a chance to figure it all out as well as giving time for the public to follow NG to some other cesspool.

Supra, I know this will be a big disappointment to you, but Vivid Entertainment withdrew it's porn deal that they offered her.

Stop getting your news from TMZ or Fixed News or Nancy Grace. Had you watched the Today show this morning like I happened to, you could have watched the JUDGE with your own eyes on the court's broadcasted feed to see what the authority on the matter had to say about it.

The reason your opinions and summations are so fucked is that you are hearing something second or third hand...much like hearsay. It allows for interpretation and twisting. Ever play the telephone game?
