Maybe not but I wouldn't rule him out completely. Who do you think will win ROY?

In descending order of deserving contributions to their MLB teams, here is my ROY list:

Jaime Garcia
Mike Leake
Gaby Sanchez
Stephen Strasburg*
Jason Heyward
Buster Posey
Jonathon Niese
Starlin Castro

There are a lot of rookies in the NL performing well over Castro's head right now. There is no reason to give it to him.

*Right now Stras only has 54 or so innings, compared with well over 100 for the two top pitchers, though at the end of the season he should rise to the top

Also, keep in mind Strasburg's BABIP is an astonishing .331, if that starts to regress towards the mean from here on out, he is going to be a ROY no-doubter.

If Strasburg is lower because of lack of innings, then Posey shouldn't be ahead of Castro, as he has only played like 1/2 to 2/3 as many games as Castro.

So we should award ROY-type stuff just based off of playing time now? Between the two, Posey has the better VORP, and that's in fewer PA's. What I'm getting at is that he's better than Castro, and has given his team more in fewer chances.

Waldo, no offense, but these homerish thoughts of us winning ROY's and other things is why most people hate Cubs fans....

Eh, this isn't such a big issue for me, the blatant racism though....that's a different story.

VORP doesn't factor in defense...

WAR does, and yep, Posey is beating Castro in that area, too (1.9 to 1.5) in almost 30% less PT/fewer PA's. Account for that difference, and Posey has contributed to his team almost double what Castro has to his. Any other straws you want to grasp at?

you have no idea what you are doing. do you?

I move to have tbo stripped of his mod powers immediately, and I further request that I be moved to the head of the line for moderating spots as reparation for this travesty. Do I have a second on the motion?
