I've been watching baseball longer then just about anyone in this post has been alive and I can't recall ever seeing a worse defensive SS

It may just be me but I think Castro's defense is already approving. That's what I am seeing and like the approvement. May just be me, if so, oh well.

You must not have been watching particularly closely because he isn't even the worst defensive SS in the past decade for a Chicago team.
Who are u suggesting the Cubs had that was worse?
I would like to make a case that Castro was considered a really good defender. And it isn't that he can't handle to fast pace of the Majors, it's that he goes too fast.
Ronny Cedeno wasn't even good...Theriot was averge. I would take Castro over those 2 any day.
that's garbage. He makes bad throws too often. He's got to fix it.
Of course you would. Those two combined didn't offer up the offense Starlin does...
I know it's not the end-all, be-all....but for the sake of comparing, Starlin's (short) career Fld% is .951. Ronny Cedeno's is .971. Ryan Theriot's is .973.
Starlin has 16 errors this season. Theriot has never had more than 15 in a season.
Now, before we all get up in arms over there, I'm fully aware that Castro's range is for superior to both of those guys, and part of the reason Castro's errors are up is b/c he gets to balls that the other two wouldn't...but to say that castro's defense is far superior to them at this point in his career is a stretch to say the least.
