Brett, he said more. 50-60 more. So he is making all the plays the other guys are making, plus 50. Sure, he has more errors than them, but he gets to so many more balls that it really levels out.

i'm still yet to see a stat that proves that.
Really? RZR shows EXACTLY that.
Disclaimer: I'm not saying Castro has done that in just stating there is a stat that can (dis)prove that.
I said disclaimer.
I honestly don't know how much more he makes than the average SS. I highly doubt he really makes 50 more.
I might have misunderstood why you were asking.
There is a stat that CAN prove or disprove the statement being thrown around.
But really, I thought one of those Sabre stats would tell something similar...but what does it actually say about Castro? I would imagine he's only slight above avg at this point in his career.
You would be wrong.
He is slightly above completely awful at this point in his career.
Even his OOZ is pretty rough.
lol, I was trying to be nice
I was trying to be funny.
Right now, Castro is way below average. Yeah he makes a great play and he boots a routine one or throws a souvenir for a fan.
I honestly don't care that much if he doesn't do well defensively because he more than makes up for it with his bat and he'll improve and be better by the time we are actually competing.
The Cubs don't have Starlin Castro playing Shortstop, Starlin Castro IS the Cubs.
