Lawns all over up this way have been dry, crispy, and stunted.
In the next week with all this rain it will soon look like a rainforest.

I am looking forward to seeing green again, but along with that there is going to be a mosquito explosion.

Bonus with the rain- it has been so dry and windy i have not been able to fire up the burn pile..didnt want to burn down northern Illinois.
Now as soon as the rain stops I can get that shit done.

We've had about 3 1/2 inches of rain since Thursday or something like that. Raining again today.

My swamp corner in my yard still isn't a swamp (generally from April to June its a swamp), so it must have mostly absorbed it. Even with all that rain, my lawn has barely grown thus far.

Tropical storm level shit right around 4 pm every afternoon here that lasts a few hrs. Which is pretty normal this time of year here.

We are in the same boat up here.

What was a marsh full of cat tails last year is dry enough to mow.

The lawn didn't get much of a power up... but the weeds sure as hell did.

We are still several inches in deficit. I hope this week starts to close the gap.

I just mowed like a week ago, and the grass out front is already super tall. Gotta get on it soon because my HOA is comprised of bunch of dickheads whose retirement hobbies seem to only consist of keeping their yards 100% perfect.

Many years ago I knew a guy who got screwed by an HOA dictatorship.
He went on a ski vacation and his return trip took much longer than planned for due to a storm.
Got home 2 hours before he had to work on Monday.
Parked his suv and took his wife's car to work.

By the time he got home, his suv had been towed and he had a notice of a fine in his mailbox, because luggage racks were not allowed on vehicles and his skis were in a rack on top of the suv.

**** that noise.

Received golf ball size hail today. Was cool to watch it pound off the windows in a high rise. Luckily missed my house, although I would have taken a new roof.
