Ok, I'm just wondering where it says they have to give anything to charity?

That's what I'm trying to figure out.

Being a business is one thing, reneging from a charitable event is another.
I did not mean to imply that.

Just commenting on what I perceive to be a money grab vs returning something to the community.

I'm with you on the charitable part.

Again, it's a business. Eruns summed it up. Should the Hawks just open the doors and let people watch on the big screen? Still need operating costs for the building, concessions, etc.

What would be a fair price if they decided to charge fans?

I'm just trying to understand why you think they should be obligated to "return something to the community" for holding a road watch at the UC? Sure, it would be altruistic, but I don't view providing for the UC to be open for a road game as a "money grap".

Traditionally, teams donate the proceeds to charity when they open their buildings for watch parties.
A full 100%?
From the tickets, yes. I also found several cases where teams opened the building and didn't charge anything for parking or admission.

From what I saw, admission is $5-$10 for teams that charge admission. If they donated the "cover charge" and kept the concessions, I wouldn't have much of a problem at all.

That would be plain stupid, not because theres money to be made, but because you can end up with alot of peeved fans that drove out there and there simply isn't room left.
Rocky was on WGN Radio this morning and said it's something they hadn't thought of yet. Huh!? How could the genius that is the front office not even though of this yet?
For a group that created the City Roadwatches, and what an idea that was, by the way, how could some archaic concept like this not make it past their heads?

I won't go there, cause anything McD related, including the past is a different topic for later.

But I agree that there will be one. If there isn't, I'd be shocked. I doubt that 20,000+ Hawks fans will fit in a bar, so where are you going to put them? The UC is one of the logical choices, I think.

I don't think anyone would. I completely agree with this practice.

Nasser (Indiana)

Have they decided if they're going to open up the UC for the road games yet?

Jesse Rogers

I have not heard an official announcement. I know Rocky Wirtz said yesterday they were conidering it. My guess is they do. Would they pass up a chance to have TV flashing to the UC while the game is going on in Philly..As long as they workout security and building stuff Im sure it will happen

Id definitely be interested in attending something like this. Its better than sitting on the couch, imo. I hope they give a little pre-sale to STHs first though as I am sure this would be a well attended event.

I don't know... they would probably still charge 50-100 bucks a seat. 300 level probably the most expensive, right?

Assuming that there is the possibility that the Hawks don't have a watch-party, would anybody be interested in having an "IHN Road Watch" somewhere?

Not saying at someones house, but maybe go somewhere else.

I would vote for RK's house. He'll be away at the road game but you know he could trust us to not leave a mess.

in 2005 the White Sox had a watch party at the UC...it cost $20 and was awesome. The best seats were the 200 level because they lowered the scoreboard so it was right at eye level

I know you all don't really care for the O boards, but we are going to hold an "unofficial" road watch for game 4 and Shoeless Joe's in Rosemont. This is being organized by the Mods with some minor assistance by the team.

The team is going to provide SCF towels in a limited quantity based on the number of people that commit to attending. Food and drinks would be on you.

If we can have at least 50 people to commit we will have that large pit at Shoeless Joe's. But need to know the count by tomorrow.

All I know is if the Hawks did have a viewing party at the UC, it would be filled with your typical ''bandwagon fans" and I'll probably miss out on a ticket.

How nice of you to invite us all over for an IHN watch-party.

It would be nice for a outoftowner to know where to go for game four. Any good places downtown?

My flight will land at O'Hare at 4 PM so hopefully I will have some time to get to a good bar.
