Wait so you're saying a team that needs just about one(if not two) of everything on D might actually be interested in one of the best D players in the draft... you don't fucking say.

Remember John Randle? He played around 285 his entire career. Donald has some serious strength, benched the 225 35 times (second among def lineman). However, this is all a smoke screen--no GM's make it known that obvious they want a player in the first round 2 months til the draft

People get hung up on Donald's size even though there's already a well-established precedent of players his size at his position being damned good for a long time. There's actually a pretty extensive history of quick, under-sized three technique DTs having tremendous success in the NFL. In fact, other than QB I can't think of a position where size has been so over-valued for so long. Donald elicits many comparisons to Atkins, and people act like Atkins was the first under-sized three tech to be any good. In reality, guys like Atkins, Sapp, Glover, Randle, etc. have been playing at Pro Bowl and HOF levels for 30 years. All were 6'2" or below and played at 290-300lbs. Then there's an even wider pool of guys who played at the same weight but were average height at 6'3" or 6'4", Tommie Harris and Henry Melton being the most relevant Bears examples. It's not like Donald would be breaking the mold. If anything, he fits it.

Attitude, production and athleticism Donald is the real deal. Forget the lack of height this man can play football. Donald blew up the combine and had an impressive pro day as well. Dont forget he had an impressive Senior Bowl. He has both the athleticism and natural ability that Emery covets as well as production and brings a desire to the field that is important for a player to succeed at the next level. I would take Donald in a heartbeat at # 14 overall if he is still available but the way he is climbing up the draft boards makes it seem less likely.

He's listed at 6'2" 296lbs, so he probably plays 293-299lbs with normal weight fluctuation.
