A couple interesting stories from the Hawks' beat writers this week.

First, Sun-Times' Mark Lazerus has a story on how nutrition has become a huge key for the team. Best quote of the story comes from Q:

And The Athletic's Scott Powers had a big story on 13 prospects who could be added to the team's roster pool by next season. It's behind the Athletic's paywall so I won't be posting any of those contents here, but I again recommend getting subscription to that website. They cover everything in Chicago and they're expanding all over the country, too.

Does the list include Shalunov, Debricat, Bondra, Hayden, Forslin, Pokka, Motte, Baun, and Tuilila?

Similar 6'2" 225 lbs, coming from college so there is a chance they can play, and they have the man measurables to be just fine in the league. Hayden has a bit of a quick step as well, plus skills, and holy leadership....

Hayden is compared to "Toews?"....

But Kero may be able to hold him off with his experience and skating ability. Should be a nice battle and I love something interesting like this down this lull stretch of season.

I've really enjoyed Kero game. Hayden adds to depth, and can see him being a 3c or 4c next year.

Yale didn't get far in the playoffs. 14 games left for us. I think we need him in by the 21stth of March to log 10. I think that is the plan if Q is saying he is here this week/next week.

Yes Hayden is eligible, any of a teams own prospect is. A guy like Baun was a UDFA so he wasnt.

Baun has had a real solid year in Rockford and even before the big trade offs, Baun had earned his way into their top 6 with rising production. He's got a 4th line element potential for next NHL season if he has another camp/preseason like he did in 2015.

Thanks for the clarification. I still hope for Baun, didn't he have a freak injury last year.

He had an arm break or something then multiple injuries I think.

And he's a big guy who skates well and seems smart enough to play all around and Q liked him for that. I don't know how well his hands are, he doesn't seem a great puck handler or shooter. But he is quick and goes to the net. He has that over a guy like McNeil who didn't have those traits so he never got an NHL chance

Plus, Baun had the best first shift ever.

Looking forward to seeing him. I wonder if Q will say "here, have a Hossa"® and try him on the third line.

Scott Darling is already back skating with the team and could play on the upcoming three-game road trip.

Also sounds like Hayden will get some game time this week, but probably not Tuesday night.

But Louis not nearly NHL ready. He's fast great skater though they say not quite as fast as Hino and he's smaller than Hino too.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
I just want thank all of your guys on the content of your posts. I love to watch hockey and think that hockey players relate to everyday people better than any other professional athlete. I'm learning a lot about the team in your postings and hockey in general.

I read he is faster than Hino. I have never seen him play, but I hope he eventually gets the chance to play with the big club. At least Rockford might get some help with Louis now.
