Why does it matter if you move them on the same day or not? If Theo has the time, then I don't care. It's pretty irrelevant.

I would love if the Cubs rattled the Pirates in this series to start a slump to get them under .500 :troll: the Cubs are due for their once-in-a-while offensive explosion

Hmmm, let's see... oh wisest of wise. Could it be that everyday that passes, more pitchers become available? More pitchers on the market = lessened value of the pitchers already on the market. Maybe it's the fact that the less time a team has with a player, the less they may want to pay for him? Could be that one or two bad outings could cause a team to balk on their initial offers? Might also be that with each game, there's a risk of injury... and you can't trade a player on the DL?

We're already seeing that placing Dempster on the DL for "precautionary reasons" has reduced Dempster's initial trade value by leaps and bounds. It was a month ago that it seemed that Dempster was going the be traded and bring in an excellent haul. Now, with each passing day, his trade value drops just a bit more. The same with Garza as we hear names like Shields and Rodriguez hit the market... and other names like Hamels, Greinke, and Marcum possibly to follow.

Dempster's trade value is at its peak right now. Why wait a week to move him? Hmm. Let him make one more start and send him to a new team on the DL. Brilliant!

Is Dempster in the dugout hanging with his homies?

Sveum and Dempster apparently chatting it up on the railing. Wonder if Sveum is asking pretty please yet.

They're probably talking about the Twitter and the Facebook.

That's gotta be kind of weird. Here is all shit on the interwebz about Dempster being traded to the Braves but he is chillin' in the dugout in Cubs gear.

I mean I know we are all more aware of this because of the trade rumors, but has Sveum ever spent this much time talking to one guy besides the teaching day off he gave Castro?

Samardzija is not sucking tonight.

Let's see if the bullpen can keep this one run lead.

Samardzija is batting for himself so he could still lose this.
