Were you talking to Don Baylor? I mean seriously people wanting to give up outs in the first half of a game is stupid.

I understand if it's the pitcher, but even then they should try to mix it up.

As I said pitchers and situations where you know 1 run is the difference in the game, e.g. 9th inning or later, are the only times you ought to give up outs.

I think the pitchers need to pull the bat back and slap it over the charging defender's head every now and then just to keep them honest. They should practice that more :D

Agree that is what TLR always had his pitchers do.

Cardinal OFs not looking the greatest in this inning.

Settling for one in that inning really sucks with two runners in scoring position with one out.

Rare Yadier Molina TOOTBLAN preceded by the increasingly rare Castro error.

Maholm staying calm against a decent Cards lineup.

Another botched DP attempt by the Cards. It is so weird to watch a Cards team play this bad defense.

The replay is up on Gameday. It looked like the original throw to get the out at 2B was fine, but the throw back to first was terrible. The ball bounced off the glove, Maholm, or both and trickled well behind where the 1B would've been and allowed Barney to score easily.
