Only 60 pitches through four full. He should be able to go seven full assuming he doesn't get bogged down.

He's kept up that big strikeout rate even in his crappy month. He gets in trouble when his control is off, like all pitchers. I read that he had been working on a curveball that didn't curve and stuff worked out again once he ditched that curve. Maybe something else he'll work on later.

That's 8 K's then. 14 outs left but I doubt he gets to 15 or 20 Ks

Yeah that was one theory that he was floating out there. It seemed like he was going away from the splitter a lot during that bad month too, but that is just my recollection of it without wading through pitchf/x.

There's the control issues. That'll drive up his pitch count a bit.

1-6-3 double play though. Very nice.

Left that fastball up. Oh well, Shark needs to regroup here and get through another couple innings.

Everything has been up this inning. That splitter should have been in the dirt but it was still in the strikezone.

Brett Jackson swung and missed on a fastball in the middle of the strikezone before taking a called third strike.

Brett Jackson has some issues. Guess they should let him get on-the-job training and adjust in-game when it doesn't matter, then figure this shit out in the offseason with extra work if that's not too taxing on the body.

Yeah I wasn't expecting an over 60% k rate from BJax.

He's obviously recognizing pitches but it's got to be a mechanical thing. He's worked very deep counts which I like. Swinging and missing and hittable pitches screams "timing and mechanics" to me but I'm not an expert.

If you could combine Vitters swing with eveything else Jackson does you would have a fucking stud.

11 Ks for Samardzija?

How do you explain that?

Shark week.
