They tend to not get things done in favor of following their procedures.... or they don't agree with my solutions to problems but then offer none of their own even though it is their job to solve said problems.... it can be enraging at times.

Seriously, I think it should be a crime for fasist HOA's to mandate that water-intensive ground cover be mandated in areas that don't have much water. I know that might become an issue in places that don't have much free water. IMHO having enough water to go around trumps property values.

I don't know how your friend isn't affected by the lack of rain. I know myself and my immediate family are. I already wrote about my mom having to install artificial grass, letting her trees die, etc. And I want to power wash my driveway b/c there's a bunch of oil on it, but I need to wait until after sunset so the HOA nazis don't see me and report me (ok, maybe that's a "first world problem"). And they're engraining my younger kids with water conservation in school. So whenever I'm using water, I've got my kids yapping at me about how I'm wasting it. And we're getting close to mandatory water rationing. And don't forget the farmers, they're getting totally fucked, which has the potential to affect the entire country.

You know another piece of infrastructure we should invest in as a Nation.... water pipelines and pumping stations.... we get floods in some parts of the U.S..... if you can build pipelines from Canada to the Gulf to pump oil, why not push flood water surplus through some stations that clean it up and then send it out West to where our farmers and other citizens need it?

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ is why. A barrel of oil costs a shit ton more than a barrel of water making the costs for pipelines negligible.
We could just give control of all of our water to Nestle so they can jack up the price then it may be worth it.

Had some big storms Friday, started about 5 PM and its raining now.
Saturday at about 4 AM there was a lightning strike so close to my house I thought my house was going to start burning, it was the brightest flash of light I think I've ever seen along with a boom that shook the house. It ended up being a tree and a ComEd pole in a park 2 houses away.
