So I thought I'd start a thread where we can ask each other for Christmas gift suggestions. I do most of my shopping on Amazon now, and I've already knocked out most of my shopping. But I need some suggestions for a 17 year old daughter who is into music and art. I'm thinking of getting Beats wireless headphones. She has an older Beats model (not wireless) that's getting a little dilapidated, so maybe the new wireless model would be nice. I personally think Beats is shit compared to my Bose headphones, but that's what the kids are into these days, so I'm not here to argue over the brand, just whether it would be a nice gift for a 17 year old. Of course, I'm open to other gift ideas as well.

This is a great idea for a thread. I usually just give books to everyone on my list but would love some additional ideas.

I am glad that I didn't make your list this year. Not everybody likes reading books.

I'm guessing a 17 year old would love a new pair of Beats.

17 years old eh? I'll only add this to the thread because I know about the deal.

I just got this for my 21 year old niece. Same price, same shop. Hell of a deal, and wont ruin her hair as bad as cheap hair dryers, also uses less power, so lower your power bill. Built to last.

Besides facials, which I like to give also. Giftcards in general are great gifts. I rarely buy physical gifts anymore. Get her a few giftcards to her favorite stores. Use them as stalking stuffers. She'll love you for it because she's at that age where she'd rather shop and pick her own things out.

Cash > Giftcards. And the best part about cash, is you can spend it anywhere.

I prefer Gift cards for the younger folks. It makes it harder for them to go out and spend it on booze n drugs.

Funny that you say that. I know a lot of kids that sell their gift cards for cash. Now I know why. And they used to tell me things like, "trying to pay college tuition". :D

Yeah, when I was that age, my favorite present was cash. But it's so much more fun watching kids unwrap their presents and seeing their ensuing reactions.

Agreed. Big fan of reactions myslef. When I did shop for Teens I'd do the gift/ Gcard combo. Best of both worlds kinda thing. For Pre teens I'd only do gifts.

Is she an Andriod or IOS user? An ITunes card would be a good paring with the Headphones.

Probably a lame present for a 17 year old, I dunno.

I enjoy painting.

I spent a ton over the years on my Ex who loved to paint. I didn't mind because she used it on a regular. Made it easy for me to shop for.

No doubt, I can't believe how much little tubes of paint cost. Michaels usually has pretty good deals on stuff around the holidays though.
