Cueto is RHP. Vitters is a righty hitter. I don't know the platoon split stats but I imagine Vitters wouldn't look too good against Cueto either. In fact I doubt any of the Cubs today look good against Cueto, but hey, that's why you play the game.

Yeah, but what's the point ofcalling him up. If he was a major leaguer, he's gunna have to hit them eventually. So, you try him out, evaluate him and if he fails, you go for a 3B via trade or FA. The Cubs say they're evaluating him, but there not getting good results.

If they think that Vitters is a platoon guy then they might be using him the right way. Most fans would probably want the kids played every day, but most fans don't run the Cubs.
