Cubs lineup: DeJesus CF, Barney 2B, Rizzo 1B, Soriano LF, Castro SS, Valbuena 3B, LaHair RF, Clevenger C, Wood P

Against Bronson Arroyo, I'm guessing Sveum wanted to give some of his scrubs a bit more confidence, but who knows. Castro not benched despite being thrown under the bus yesterday even though most of the team had a fail.

Lendy Castillo --> Cubs

Scott Maine --> Iowa

Wonder how much time Lendy needs to stick with the Cubs. Not that it really matters one way or the other, but if the Cubs want to keep him and work with him he does need to surpass the Rule 5 threshold.

I did some rough figuring and I think he had to be up by Wednesday or Tuesday to get to the 90 days needed.

No one was really benched given that Vitters and Castillo are in quasiplatoons to begin with and BJax is getting the day off due to being sore from the collision with Castro.

The only article I saw about potential benchings focused on Castro so that was the one I was most worried about. He needs days off, for sure, but it could have been handled without giving the media some fodder.

Decent start for Wood through one inning. Let's hope it continues.

Wood up to 5 Ks already... good way of getting out of that inning, even if Heisey helped him out by not swinging.

Ah, just a play to save a hitter.

Russell and Mather in, LaHair and Wood out on double switch.
