Ben Johnson changed agents today. Current agent is based out of Chicago. His name is Rick Smith, wonder if it’s the prior GM from Houston that Bill O’Brien kicked out

A highland park based agency because he's soon to be living in Chicagoland.

Makes sense.

Idk if you’re paying attention but people are really fucking sick & tired of DEI. It’s not surprising at all that Ben Johnson looks at Bearsworld, with mediocre blacks and women making all the decisions with zero accountability, and decides he doesn’t want to be the next white fall guy. Oh, also he will be dragged relentlessly by the media if he doesn’t somehow get the DEI quarterback to play way better than he is capable of.

Or

Go play for Tom Brady who has none of that baggage. Easy choice.
Oh my.

This is either an epic level troll job or a clear example of why Kentucky should finally outlaw inbreeding.

No state taxes
Smaller market
Less pressure to succeed immediately
won't be reporting to a potential lame duck GM
meeting with upper management does not require renting out an Auditorium
State-of-the-art Facilities and not playing in one of, if not the worse stadiums in the NFL
High draft picks
Plenty of cap
Nice weather
Not the NFC North

Assurances from Tom Brady that ownership is stepping aside and not getting involved in football decisions. Originally, B. Johnson told the Raiders (through his agent) not to put in an interview request. Tom Brady convinced him to take the interview.

That's really interesting.

Where was his old agent based out of?

There was a lot of noise in the rumor mill you guys hate that Ben Johnson's now prior agent was behind a lot of the noise regarding him going to Vegas. Mostly speculated as leverage.

Shefter always had him going to Chicago, more or less.

I wonder, and this is not sourced but just me wondering out loud, if Ben's old agent was trying to strong arm him into taking the Raiders job, and was taking things a bit too far?

And maybe Ben really does just have his heart set on Chicago.

That's what seems to make sense to me in all of this but I guess we will find out. At the end of the day it's interesting that his new agent will be based out of Chicago but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.

I went to the Bears Super Bowl in 2007 with Rick Smith and his wife Tiffany, and one of the owners of the Texans (a business associate of mine). Tiffany was dying from breast cancer in 2017 and Rick took a leave of absence to be with her. He never returned, I don't know if that was his doing or the Texans. Houston had the Watson issues going on.

I have had no contact with him since, but doing some googling I do not think it is the same Rick Smith that is an agent

The Raiders suck. Sucking means you have to pay through the nose.

Coaches, free agents, GMs, everything.

Will Ben Johnson be worth it? **** if I know.

I know he sits in the booth, i was asking why he hasn't been shown on the In Season Hard Knocks AFC North on HBO Max.
I really wish they'd done a better job showing him.

He is 27, has two years left on his contract. The Raiders job is appealing because it is a build from the ground up situation. Trade him for draft capital while he has value. he probably wants no part of a rebuild anyway.
Who the **** would find any appeal in a team that needs a complete rebuild from ground up? That’s the stupidest thing I’ve heard this year. He could literally go for 10+ years before he even finds a QB! Anyone who honestly thinks the Raiders have a chance at Ben Johnson is an idiot. Interviewing with Las Vegas was a bussiness move.

Imagine picking an organization over another solely because Tom Brady is part of an ownership group that owns a paltry 7%. How is Tom all of a sudden the magic piece to fix a shit franchise when he's never been an owner or front office person?

The greatest basketball player ever, Jordan, wasn't a good owner. Why is Tom Brady all of a sudden a guaranteed great front office person?
Because he is a white GOAT. Jordan failed because he was a black GOAT. Learn the rules brah.

White GOATs are good at everything. Well everything except parenting and keeping personal trainers from fucking their wife.
