Oakland????
Not one person here thinks the Bear can dictate this hire. The prospects are not slaves and will choose what they feel is the best or most desireable or profitable destination. Everyone that's fired their HC is a in a f'd up situation except maybe Jerry Jones but that's just a different kind of f'd up.And I think the Bears getting overhyped as the best coaching destination and the sort of captive way the media has to still buy in on Caleb Williams rubbed off on the Bears org. It empowered them to be the purest version of themselves and arrogantly think they can dictate what kind of hire they get. That is only going to ward good candidates off when you have Oakland, New Orleans and Jacksonville who are making it very well known they are willing to humble themselves and do what it takes to land the best coach.
Rooney Rule is a joke
Hell yeah! Mastermind Ian stays
Incorrect, Brady is white therefore is qualified for all those jobsLol Brady is why DEI exists. Got a broadcasting job he is unqualified for and has no executive experience to speak of but now suddenly he is head of football operations. There is no scenario in a pure meritocracy where he would get either job.
He’s qualified to talk about XIs @Mighty Joe Young qualified to talk about things other than McDonald's breakfasts and run pro?

No it’s not. He’ll be the highest paid first time HC. He won’t get the same amount as Andy ReidIt’s going to cost $20 million a year to get Johnson. I hope they pay it.
I know he sits in the booth, i was asking why he hasn't been shown on the In Season Hard Knocks AFC North on HBO Max.He normally sits in the booth. He’s a fiery guy at times and his language may put the McCaskey's off.
****!! NO comp picks!!
and where did you hear that? The “rumor” is that supposedly offered him a “massive” deal. Nothing about bigger than Reid’s.Supposedly the Raiders are going to offer a contract to Johnson that is higher than Andy Reid’s deal. It’s a stupid decision by them but that’s what happens when new owners come in. They aren’t winning shit for at least 3 years no matter what they do, zero chance of winning the AFC. They should be just trying to raise their floor and make the playoffs. You don’t need to pay this much for a coach who can do that.
So we can ***** laterI’m kinda to the point where I hope they don’t get BJ. The hype is just so unrealistic at this point. Why do people always have to hype these offseason moves so much?

$15m +or- 10% sounds about right depending on greed vs simply preference. Probably trying to get both at the same time.and where did you hear that? The “rumor” is that supposedly offered him a “massive” deal. Nothing about bigger than Reid’s.
People making shit up inch by inch.
Here’s the rumors:
"I have seen people saying it would probably take six years, $60 million fully guaranteed, I have had people quietly tell me for someone to get Ben Johnson it would maybe be six years at $90 million," Carpenter said. "$15 million a year guarantee. ... The exact answer I was given was 'If Ben Johnson isn't the coach of the Raiders, the reason will have nothing to do with money.'
BREAKING: Potential Raiders, Johnson Deal Could Anger Rest of League
The Las Vegas Raiders and Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson have been closely tied since the hiring cycle began after Antonio Pierce's firing. Rewww.si.com
and nothing wrong with that. Any hire should be held to that standard. Rookie QB, not so much.Yeah it's gotten kind of absurd. We all want him but it's reminiscent of the Caleb Williams hype. He was supposed to single handedly turn around this franchise immediately, and the same expectations will come with a Ben Johnson hire.
With the raiders, expectations will be tempered.
