Hood used to not be bad, I feel like all these years w/ kap have wore on him. He's always negative and seems like he's not enjoying doing this anymore.

TBH i would as well if i had to spend 3 hours every morning with david kaplan
The highlighted is something i wonder about with Ben Johnson that all these trick plays he does has anything to do with coaching under Dan Campbell for the last few years. I wonder if he tries them as much if not for Dan Campbell and all his chances he likes taking during games.

But it’s has been discussed ad naseum. Really what you mean to say is that “it COULD be…” so and so.

McCarthy is a SB winning coach, how many SBs did Arians have at the time? BJ is a young coordinator, Trestman has been in football for a very long time, dating back to working with Steve Young lol. And the CFL. The parallels really aren’t as close as you make it seem to be.
Trestman still in football coaching for my guy Jim Harbaugh in LA.

BJ needs a good motivating DC with him and he’ll be fine. At his lowest, he’s a great OC.

1. Do you think the Bears arranged the interview with Eddie George at the same time you found out about it? Do you think they called him when Goff threw a Pick Six?

2. Why are you so sure he’s not a serious candidate? Tomlin and John Harbaugh would have been considered nonserious at the time they were hired, too, no?
Come on now, i like Eddie George and all but there's just no way he's a serious candidate. It's ridiculous to even think he is.

I don’t view him as HC material for the 2025 Bears. Clearly no team with HC openings views him as HC material in 2025.

He has no real NFL coaching experience while other legit candidates do. It’s simple. There’s a reason why the Bears didn’t fly him out in a private jet or setting up a second interview with him. He never had a real chance.
Me waiting for Eddie George to get on the 2nd round of interviews list.

Yep, it just so happened that they needed an 18th or whatever candidate out of the blue who just happened to satisfy the Rooney Rule, and they just happened to announce it right when their (apparently) chosen candidate unexpectedly became available. That seems kinda convenient doesn't it? Although I think they may have agreed to an interview with George and then expedited it because of the Lions loss. Either way, it doesn't inspire confidence in their process imo.

Mike Tomlin was an NFL defensive coordinator when he was hired, with several years under Tony Dungy and Jon Gruden including a Super Bowl ring. Harbaugh was a bit more out of left field, but he had been an NFL coach for 10 years and wasn't even the first choice.

Eddie George is an FCS coach.

First, I don’t understand why it matters when the public finds out about an interview.

Second, and I don’t know this answer, but who announced it minutes after the Lions game? The Bears or someone on X?
Jay Glazer who is apparently part of the McCaskey family announced it.

Eddie has a chicago connection, so there is a chance he was already in town anyways

Like I said, eddie didnt accept this for no reason. Im sure the majority of people had no clue he was a coach in college( I know i didnt), no matter how small the program is. This got his name out there.

A.Glenn will only meet with Saints for 2nd interview if he doesn't have a deal with the Jets by Tuesday.

So i guess he took the Bears off his list for a 2nd interview.

Did Ben Johnson tell him something that we don't know? Hmmmmmmm

Chico for DC?
I wonder if money will be a factor for bringing in a DC. If BJ will be paid the big bucks, does that limit what they team will shell out for a good veteran DC? Particularly one with previous HC experience.

Did the bears ever request a 2nd interview?

Takes two to tango. I never thought he was a serious candidate for them, its clear their top guys are offense

Agreed, what I wrote has nothing to do with Eddie George's perspective on this.

It’s not the same concept at all. A HC vs OC vs Passing game coordinator are 3 completely different roles and interviews.

Fangio was in house candidate. He was already the DC for the Bears. He never took a lesser role.
Same concept as interviewing someone for one job and them accepting another job.

Fangio was out of contract and no longer the DC for the Bears. He was free to go anywhere. The facts are he interviewed for HC and accepted a lesser role as DC.

No idea if they've gotten to that part of their process or not but if not then Glenn took his name out.

Nothing is clear yet since all we have to go off of is rumors.

Well that's dumb of Kap and JHood.

They didnt understand the QB turned it over 5 times?

The defense had 20 players injured never dawned on them? Idiots.
They still outgained Washington. Obviously the trick play was stupid but you can’t win with 5 turnovers and 45pts given up by a defense.

There will be likely 15 coaches that dont get 2nd interviews with the Bears. Why is Eddie your only concern?
