JT Barrett, tho

Does anyone recall when Ohio State had JT Barret, Braxton Miller and Cardale Jones at QB? That was like an overflow of riches in college, and all of them sucked in the NFL.

Cliff notes?
I’d have to listen again to be sure I don’t miss stuff, but I’ll try from memory. Ben’s agent said:
  • He’s a lifelong Bears fan (maybe obvious given where he lives)
  • He represents Jeff King and already had a comfort level with working with the Bears interview team.
  • They loved the interview process. Said it was well done and Poles had a 1 on 1 with Ben to start and Ben liked it saying he’s definitely someone he’d be able to work with.
  • He sees value to the Bears interviewing people cause it’s the only time a front office gets a peak into the operations of other teams. No other opportunities like that exist in the NFL. He sees differences as an agent, but the McCaskeys, for example, only get glimpses and information via things like this.
  • GM alignment was never about bringing their own guy. It’s understanding how they’ll work together. Also understanding how they’ll handle existing players cause a GM may love a guy he drafts who may not fit anymore. (Kinda like VJJ)
  • The Bears were willing to answer anything. All the stuff people are constantly talking about, they asked directly and the Bears weren’t offended to discuss any of it.
  • There was never a point where the Raiders were the preferred choice.
  • He could’ve done something to squash the rumors, but it benefited him to have that out there. No one on their side started it though.
  • Ben did tell George he wanted to get the Bears job. The agent wasn’t worried about leverage. Both sides ultimately wanted it and no one was trying to screw anyone. Contract went smoothly.
  • Ben made a decision Monday morning, early. This was after the agent presented him and his family pros and cons of each over the weekend.

Yes. It is. If you email someone instead of tweeting them, do you consider it not 'social'? to your original point, is hiding behind a laptop any different than hiding behind a phone?
Yeah, this is probably the wrong crowd to make the point I was gonna make. Carry on.
