Get excited over not making the worst hire!

Jesus the bar is low for excitement around here.
They're bringing in a DC with several years of top defenses and HC experience, and a rumored candidate for OC was a HC in college for years and rumored to be a HC candidate at times. And that OC will not need to design the offense.

And you think that's weak? WTF are you expecting, the ghosts of Don Coryell and Buddy Ryan?

Top defenses. HC experience. Runs a 4-3 so no massive personnel change needed. What's the issue? What's your concern? Who would you have preferred?
Top defenses? Recently? The Saints were in one of the worst divisions in football. This past year the Saints defense finished near the bottom when a couple teams in the division played well. His defenses are good against bad teams.

HC experience at being terrible. He’s a terrible HC.

I know who David Shaw is thanks.

Allen isn't as good as Spagnolo Flores Fangio. He's more like Leslie Frazier or Rob Ryan.

Also how are they going to fix the offensive and defensive lines in one off season?

This is starting to feel like when the Cubs hired Counsell but ultimately didn't have the players to truly compete.

Top 10 defense 4 out of the last 5 years. He's easily one of the best DC's in the entire league.

2024: 19th in points, 30th in yards
2023: 8th in points, 13th in yards
2022: 9th in points, 5th in yards
2021: 4th in points, 7th in yards
2020: 5th in points, 4th in yards

Over the last 5 years, he’s run a really good defense.

I am not evaluating him as HC, as he isn't in that role. But HC experience won't be a negative for a DC.

He was DC in N.O. for 7 seasons. He took over in NO as DC and had the 32nd ranked D. Within 2 years, Top 10. 5 years in a row 14th or better, 3 of those Top 10.

You're looking at the Saints in his time as HC, when he took over for a HC who quit when his HOF QB retired. Whose record would be great without a QB?

You say the division sucks but you're looking at it in 2024, not when he was DC.
2015 Carolina was 15-1.
2016 Atlanta went to the Super Bowl
2017 three teams won 10 or more

And the claim that team's season-long stats are all based on division games is silly, given that division games account for 6 of 16/17.

Last two years his D was Top 5. I will take that. Nobody is claiming he's the best ever. But I am not sure who is available as a candidate that is better.

Anyone in here know how the order of compensation picks are determined? I’m having trouble finding this info online. I know how teams get comp picks, I know where the picks go in the round, but within the batch of comp picks at the end of each round how is it determined which team gets the first comp pick/2nd/3rd etc.? Is it just based on team record similar to normal draft picks? Is it first come first serve? Does anyone know how the order is decided?

He can't tell you an alternative or who he would have rather had. He can only piss in the pool.
His vaj in the pool would contaminate it no matter how much chlorine was in it.

No it’s based on how many free agents you lose vs the amount of free agents you sign. But players that are cut don’t count towards it. There is a formula they use but Bears likely won’t win any comp picks, this year or next from what I can guess.
