Coen has Eberflus meets Nagy vibes - got Eberflus' corniness and acronyms with Nagy's unearned confidence.

But I do remember Siranni bombing his intro press conference and that goofball has been to two Super Bowls in three years now.
That is a great example of the book not matching the cover.

Honestly, the Duvall thing is no more cringe than when fans extenuate a chant of a guys name to sound like they are booing. Incredibly annoying too.

I have never in my life understood that. "Oh, this guy has an "oooh" sound somewhere in his name? Let's just say that part really slow and loud so it kind of sounds like we're booing!" Fans are so frickin' dumb.

I work with a Cowboys fan and he said he "heard" Eberflus can be the guy if Shotty doesn't work out. I told him that's depressing as hell to think about and offered my condolences.

Eberflus is also most likely a Jerry Jones pick, not a Schottenheimer pick. Jerry has ocd and can't work with anyone new.

Him saying he was a taking a huge risk in the introductory presser was in direct response to the local radio guys in Dallas correctly saying that he has lost the ability to work with anyone new or go outside the organization at all.

And how it is, and has been, all around the league. Those who always absolved Lovie for misses by Angelo were clueless. Lovie wanted all those awful defensive selections that were complete throwaways, picks that could have been used to build and rebuild a competent offensive line. But so many of Lovie/Angelo’s picks were on D; it was maddening.
Finally someone is saying this out loud, and thank you! I fell that the Head Coach plays a huge role in selecting the day 1&2 picks and the GM and scouts are responsible for the later rounds.

I know there were some fans calling for Coen over Ben Johnson...But if you want to see the difference Check out Coens presser and compare it to Johnsons... To me there is a yuuuuuge difference ... You only get one chance to make a good first impression and Ben Johnson nailed his opportunity ... To me Liam Coen, not so much. I could be wrong and nothing bad, he just doesn't seem prepared for HC..

The guy took a very surreptitious path to NFL HC

I loved when David Letterman told some bad joke and the crowd was booing him and he looked at Paul and said “they’re not booing. They’re yelling Daaaaaave.” His style of joke.

It’s somewhat like when mom goes to the grocery store and the kids tell her what they want her to buy. It’s a suggestion, but it doesn’t mean she’s buying it.
