If Ben Johnson would take the Jags over the Bears he would never succeed here anyways. What a cowards choice that would be. Have fun being irrelevant.
What i have heard on local radio is Johnson has only agreed to interview with the Pats and the Bears.
Pats might now be the best opening on the market. Good rookie QB and tons of Cap.

My guess is he interviews at other places(including the bears, and patriots a second time(if still open)) after the lions finish their playoff run.

Probably not the best idea to interview at 6 places during a bye week of the playoffs.

Doubt it matters, but ben johnson is currently 2/1 odds on Bovada to be the Jaguars head coach. Those numbers are probably based off nothing tho since its an off shore sportsbook. Oddly enough the -200 favorite is liam coen.

Bears talk starts at about 3:00 or so

-Vrabel, Johnson and Glenn are the Bears top 3
-Bears are closer to Super Bowl than Pats
-Wouldn't rule out any team for Vrabel

-boilerplate stuff on Johnson, needs alignment and wants team/ownership to rectify mistakes (same shit we've been hearing for a month)

How are the Cowboys not giving a clear answer on McCarthy??

Are they panicking trying to figure out if they need to extend him or let him interview?
If he were under contract, you'd expect either an announcement of his firing or a statement like other teams mentioning that he is coming back.

But Jerruh comes out and acts like reporters asking him McCarthy's status are asking some off the wall question. He commented that he "hasn't thought a lot about it". That's either complete Jerry BS or he's a complete moron (or both).

The guy's not under contract after next week. It's impossible that you haven't thought about it. I guess he doesn't want to admit he hasn't made a decision, though that's painfully obvious.

As for the Raiders, did they need Monday to make their decision? You've had the whole season to evaluate, but you just needed to sleep on it one more time?

And it was just a few short years ago that people were saying Mark Davis was too cash poor to keep firing head coaches early. He's shown them!!
They'll be looking for a 4th coach in 4 years. That should scare anyone away.

Additionally, while we all know not to underestimate Brady, they're still Mark Davis' team, have no QB, and play in a division with three really good HC/QB combos.

Define involved. He is like Magic Johnson with the Commanders. Is he quitting his announcing job to run the Raiders? Is Davis taking a backseat that I don’t know about?

Almost every report out there says Tom Brady will be interviewing with Mark Davis. A couple of months ago, it was reported that Brady would have a prominent role with the Raiders, though what that meant wasn't specified.

Mark Davis looks at Brady like the son he never had. Brady absolutely will have influence on what happens in LV

The NFL is full of idiots running teams. It’s why the same teams are always in the playoffs.

Nobody is taking that job because of Tom Brady unless he is coming out of retirement.

I was responding to your notion that Brady is just a big name part of ownership (ala Magic Johnson). I don't think that's the case... I think Brady is very much involved behind the scenes and has Davis' ear.

Will that result in getting the coach they want? I doubt it. It's not like MJ had all these people in the NBA clamoring to work for him.

Yea, if im a coach why the **** do i care about tom brady being a minority owner?

This is like jordan being an owner. Is he going to unretire as a 20 year old younger self and lead my team to a championship?

If vrabel fails wherever he goes next its going to be a long long time till he gets another shot. Its a lot more likely he succeeds in NE with drake maye and 133m in cap space.

There is absolutely no solution I can find for the raiders QB situation this year since both the titans and browns are likely drafting shadeur and cam ward. Are they going to roll with AoC? Maybe pick up justin bustin? Get an ancient kirk/rodgers? OverDraft trash in milroe/ewers/beck and hope for the best? Absolutely terrible year to need a QB.

Who knows, maybe they pay sam darnold a top 5 QB contract after the vikings let him walk.

Cousins, Rodgers, or Fields would be my guess.

Ok I understand this. I’m talking about the narrative that Vrabel wants to go to the Raiders because of Tom Brady.

I may be in the minority here, but if Johnson’s requirement to accept a job involves giving him the power to hand-pick his GM (and of course fire the current GM), that’s a red flag for me.

He’s had a good 2 years as OC of a team with an incredible roster. He’s not Lombardi.

We talk s*** about McCaskey, Warren and Poles all the time. But if I were the owner of a team, and some OC with no HC experience demanded I fire my GM, I’d tell him not happening unless I had already firmly committed to firing the GM with or without him.

Everyone is convinced he’ll be some great HC, which he might be, or he may be another Trestman.

Ive been bringing this up for months now but evidently 2.5 years of having top tier talent at detroit is enough to let him hire his own boss for bears fans.

The only team that may be stupid enough to do that besides the bears are the jags, and they have been pretty much a shitshow for years now.

It’s crazy. Let the Jags have him if he has the balls to go into Halas and demand that. Jesus, he’s had 2 years of successful OC experience.

But tbh Baalke is bad. HCs should have issues with him. Baalke got rid of Harbaugh for Jim Tomsula. That is enough reason.

It’s interesting to think about the 3rd option if I can’t trade for anyone. Honestly for me it’s Flores/Mcdaniels combo if that’s possible. I’d imagine McDaniels is New England bound though. If no McDaniels id want nothing to do with Flores. So what’s the next best option?

It might be Kermit lol. I’ll have to think about it a while.
