Keurig certainly has become very popular, but part of me laughs like it was all a practical joke or a dare.

"Hey, Bob, I am going to make a machine that a) makes only one cup at a time, so it takes longer to get coffee unless you are alone, b) the coffee will not taste nearly as good as we are used to from other methods, and c) and this part is my favorite...we'll charge significantly more per cup! :)

I used to have a Kuerig and it didn't take me long to realize how much it sucked. Those things got gross after awhile and you have to be careful there wasn't mold growing in them. Then of course, comes the environment issue with the k-cups. I find it funny that the inventor completely regrets it.

People who like Keurig and K-Cup style brewers are the same kind of people who think they cut out sugar from their coffee because they buy flavored creamers (with a ton of sugar added). Just think about that for a second.

yeah, that's not true. And no, I don't use flavored creamers.

I only use the peppermint one in Winter. That's it. No others.

We have a Keurig. Got it as a wedding shower gift. It's alright. Nothing special. Also gifted a nespresso, which seems to work a little better.

my wife got one a few years ago. Didn't like it. Got rid of it. We have a souped coffee ninja now* per @nvanprooyen. Some people would have you believe that people who have used Keurigs in the past are stupid by nature. It was a fad; nothing more, nothing less.

*We actually got a souped up version of the Ninja because we had the basic, but my wife forgot to put the pot on at night and scheduled a brew for the morning. Next morning, coffee spilled and ruined our dishwasher. I tweeted them suggesting they add weight-sensing logic to their plates, and they sent us their newest top model for free as a sorry. Social media FTW

I got the Keurig gifted to me. It was free, easy, and since I had just recently started drinking coffee it didn't matter much to me. Until I started drinking better coffee and realized I probably should do better at home and stop spending so much money on going out for coffee. Shrug.

Add all that up, and then make it MASSIVELY worse for the environment and you have yourself a winner!

@hawkbear beat me to it...
