Is it? Seems like what most expected after Engram’s deal.Damn, that's huge. Let's hope he just keeps getting better!
Good move..........only 24 years old and improving every year.
Oh, I didn't really mean like "huge money", it's a huge signing. A huge event for this season. One domino down, now we get to see how things go with an edge rusher, Jaylon Johnson, Darnell Mooney, and Chase Claypool. Is it? Seems like what most expected after Engram’s deal.
A slight steal at only 12.5Mil/year. Means the Bears are about 15Mil away from the spending floor between now and March.Kmet is NOT worth 13M+/year. Waller is an outlier at 17M/year, but 13Mil would put Kmet within 1-2Mil per year of Kelce, Kittle, Andrews, and Goedert. He's not anywhere near those guys. But neither are Njoku, Engram or Dawson Knox. But obviously, that doesn't really matter. The going price for a top 10-15 TE in the league is 13M. And like it or not, the Bears are going to, and probably HAVE to pay Kmet that type of money.
Like this - tight ends really don't start to peak until they're in their late 20s and Cole's floor is actually pretty high already.
He's got a high % to outperform his contract imo.

He'll never be the #1 option like a Kelce, Andrews, Kittle and others so he really doesn't need to put up crazy stats to be worth this deal. He can be anywhere around 600 yds and 6-7 TD's and i'm good with it.Like this - tight ends really don't start to peak until they're in their late 20s and Cole's floor is actually pretty high already.
