Agreed. Fair deal. Gotta keep in mind that deals always go up. So the deal he signs today might look a tad high but will look incredibly reasonable or even cheap in a couple more years. That's just how it goes.

Halve of footbaw fans at least don’t have the brane capacity to understands dis.

Seems... fair? He's a decent, but limited pass catcher, and a solid pass blocker. Maybe a top 10-15 two-way TE in the league, so the money seems to be appropriate for the kind of player he is, and what they hope he becomes in the future.

I lost my dick during the Tennessee years of 2009-2022

Tennessee should be really good again this year. Lost a lot on offense, but I fully expect Heupel’s offense to continue putting up gaudy numbers.

The hope is the defense will be better this year, in particular the pass defense. If the defense improves, they can play with anyone.

Joe Milton is a Heisman candidate IMO. If he plays like he did against Clemson, Vols will be scary to play.

Still a lot for UT to overcome. They have the longest losing streak of any SEC team @ Florida(even Vandy has won there more recently). That needs to end this year. Opener against Virginia is going to be a tougher game than most realize or think IMO. Bama is still bama. Tennessee also has to play a crazy talented Texas A&M this year(they will likely underwhelm but that talent level is legit). And of course Georgia is the juggernaut, but at least this year the game is in Knoxville

Been a long time since UT went to the SEC title game, let alone win it. This is the goal more so than a natty. If they win the SEC, they’ll have that natty chance

As you can tell, I’m fucking pumped!
I'm right there with you. I was a freshman at UT during Manning's senior year and it was fucking amazing then and the next few years afterward.

I lost my dick during all the years of the Clausens.

They are putting $20 million of that 50 million into a signing bonus this year while he is on his rookie deal. Therefore, I think it's entirely valid to look at this as a 5 year 53 million deal. The 10.6 AAV under that scenario is Zack Ertz/Taysom Hill level money. This is a good deal today that will be much better in five years.

It's not terrible. I think it is a comp deal to his talent.
