Reason # 28 why I don't want Harbaugh as Bears coach, even while admitting he's a good coach.
Harbaugh knows the strengths and weakness of his team.. He knows that Mc Cathy is TO prone. Like last year vs TCU.

Read it again. Not playing himself into the first. Playing himself into being the No 1 pick overall with significant inprovement. Only the 1st paragraph is quoting scouts. The second is quoting the author of article. So scouts were saying he could be the No 1 pick.

Further his YPA, completion % and passer rating all went up so no I dont think these scouts would say he is no longer a first round pick. I would agree no way he should go No 1.

"Although McCarthy's numbers certainly don't jump off the page when compared to guys like Maye and Williams, most believe that it is the result of Michigan's run heavy offense, as opposed to some deficiency in McCarthy's game."

Finally as I said Harbaugh is considered to be holding him back. Michigan ran 200 times more than they passed as Harbaugh conservative.
It literally says he has to play himself into a first round selection, meaning they didn't view him as a first rounder like you claimed. Any scout thinking he could play himself into the #1 pick prior to the season with Caleb coming off his heisman should be terminated immediately.

Harbaugh limits McCarthy for a reason. Anyone that's watched enough Michigan games knows this.

True.

But what QB has never had a bad game?

What about vs the other ranked teams last year? What excuse do you have for those?

At some point, you need to realize its an excuse too many, and the "generational" prospect you bought into might not be so "generational".

Generational is overused, but you're another guy that doesn't watch college football trying way too hard to go against the grain. I don't question the talent of Williams. I do question his mental toughness.

He has 9 Ints in 2 years. That is not TO prone.

Furthermore he was conservstive even when he had Andrew Luck as a QB as they ran more than they passed even with Luck.

No this is what it says.

"According to reports last week from NFL scouts, many believe that Michigan quarterback JJ McCarthy has the potential to be the best QB in the country, and possibly the first quarterback off the board in 2024," said Breneman. "Some scouts say his arm talent has more upside than any other quarterback they've scouted in next years draft, and that they believe McCarthy can lead Michigan to a national championship and take home the Heisman along the way."

This is the only part that is a quote from NFL scouts. It says he can be the first QB off the board.

The 2nd paragraph was not based on scouts reports. It is just the author of the article making a comment. It doesnt have quotes in the original article. I just added them to show I was quoting the article.

So you asked what Scouts said not what the author of an article said. Scouts said he could be the No 1 QB taken. There is no way those scouts think he is a 2nd or 3rd round QB who can magically become the No 1 overall pick.

No to McCarthy.

But it would be very bears for him to be drafted. Without Harbaugh.

Man I swear when the playoffs were announced, I thought, "There's no way Michigan is going to get past the first round." I actually thought it was impossible for Michigan to ever win the national championship. Shows how "smart" I am sometimes. Congratulations to the boys in Blue.

So eliminating the initial portion you included to prove you wrong leaves a paragraph that says nothing about the first round. I appreciate you trying to twist it, but you were clearly wrong.

This article is totally irrelevant as it was prior to the season anyway. And like I said, any scout that thinks he had the opportunity to go #1 should not be a scout.

This is so laughable. More arm talent than Caleb Williams? What an idiotic source.

i guess he can start collecting his social security like VJJ then
I still remember being on the defensive almost everywhere when I proclaimed how wasted of a pick vjj was with his age. I couldn't believe the amount of people defending that pick. At least penix has a brighter future than that. Drove me nuts watching vjj play over Scott.

He's grasping at straws, but will never admit it.

I admit I defended VJJ. I thought his speed and size would be a game changer, particularly on KRs. Again, it shows how smart I am.

He’s actually worth keeping just for that role.
6th WR, 4th RB(gadget), and KR.

Just a mistake taking a player like that in the 3rd round. Usually those guys are found as UDFA’s.

Mason Graham is a fucking beast. Too bad the Bears can’t pick him at 32 in the 2025 draft. He’ll be long gone by then.
I'd be fine with Kenneth Grant too
