How did AC/DC manage to sellout Wrigley?. I saw them from the 5th row during their prime, and they weren't very good back then. I have never seen a rock band improve with age, they are as old as my parents.

Yet Stone Temple Pilots at the house of blues still has remaining tics, a more talented group in a more intimate setting.

Anyone going to any upcoming summer shows?...got STP and Alan Parsons tics to look forward to.

I don't really care for AC/DC or STP, but if someone gave me a free ticket I'd go check them out.
There are plenty on my list to never see again, or I accidentally saw them because I was there for another act.

Usually when fossils like AC/DC tour, it may be the last time they do it, so that hype created demand.
I'm seeing Rush this summer, probably for the last time, because they're old too and I can think of better ways to spend $80 in the future (nosebleeds at the UC).

I agree with Paul here. I haven't really jammed AC/DC since the Let there be rock album which is more of a blues album with the gain turned up. I'd still pay for Rush. No question about it.

Well, they consistently sellout the biggest venue's in the world. U may have caught them on an off night. They throw down for crusty fucks. Extravaganza of rock n roll proportions.
AC/DC - Whole Lotta Rosie (Live At River Plate ): https://youtu.be/QMvE0yFnR0I

I once owned all of their albums, somewhere around 1990 I realized they all sounded identical...and the lyrics are unoriginal.

I think I just outgrew them.

M very first concert, 1981...Moving Pictures tour. The old International Ampitheater on the west side of Chicago.

Great show, but what a dump of a venue...has long since been demolished.

You can almost lump AC/DC in with the rest of the garage sounding bands of the 70's...Foghat/Montrose etc.

You can say way you want about the band but they broke a ton of barriers and their signature sound is unmistakable. Bon Scott would have been a legend. The lyrics are mostly blues driven which are simple by nature. Yeah they never really evolved but why fix what isn't broke. They did what they did better then anybody else in the world. I respect that. Even if I'm not a die hard fan.

This will be #3 for me. Saw them in '97 Test For Echo tour and again in 2013 after the Hawks won the cup. Carcillo attended and carted the cup on stage and the whole place went berserk.

Going to see Between the Buried and Me and Animals as Leaders in August in Bloomington. Two of my favorite bands playing together so I'm pretty excited. Haven't been to a concert in at least 5 years.

I'll be seeing (the) Melvins for the 20th time this summer.
I saw Lizzo/Sleater-Kinney in February n Milwaukee and Chicago, and both concerts ruled.

I used to be a fan, many years ago, and a friend gave me a sweet ticket last time they were in the Bay Area. Boring concert, too predictable, songs all sound alike more or less. I now believe they are one of the most overrated rock bands of the past few decades.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Southern California Trojans
Probably boring for most of you, but so far the only concert I have booked this summer is the Playboy Jazz Festival. My wife loves jazz, I think it's boring as ****. On the bright side, the eye candy there is usually top notch, grade A, even using LA standards.

I recently debated the most overrated and underrated rock musicians of the past couple decades with a buddy, this is the list (combined) we came up with:

Most Overrated (does not mean IMO they necessarily suck): Bob Dylan, Coldplay, AC/DC, Dave Matthews, Kiss, Alice Cooper, Moody Blues, Def Leppard, Doors, Reo Speedwagon

Most Underrated: Radiohead, Thin Lizzy, Gaslight Anthem, Peter Gabriel

I won't be making it to the Rush tour.
Just too much $ and I've seen them several times already. Great band, great show.
I will be seeing Haken in April, Steven Wilson in June, and The Aristocrats in July.
May also see Aristocrats in St. Louis with a friend and MAYBE even Raleigh, NC with my ugliest, dumbest cousin that I haven't seen for a few years.

LOL, I remember when "On Through the Night" first broke around 1980, those guys were about 16 years old and I thought they were going to grow into an epic rock band. Instead we got endless pour-sugar-on-me crap, ugh. Turrible.

Dylan..the male version of Janis Joplin...:puke:

Both artists would probably have done better had they used someone other than themselves on lead vocal.

The Doors had little talent outside of Robby Krieger, Def Lepp was probably the most talented of the 80's hair bands...who to this day still get too much airtime.

Gabriel I have always liked, Genesis went mainstream pop fast after his departure.
